the two things I would count as obsessions are more like topics. I can (and usually do) dedicate most of my days to either K-pop or serial killers. I'll spend hours listening to songs, watching videos, teaching myself the language, and learning dances. with serial killers, I'll spend hours looking up stories and documentaries, watching movies inspired by real-life criminals, and adding to my endless stack of books that I can't ever seem get rid of.
on top of all that, I find myself constantly taking over any conversation with facts I find interesting or what I've learned recently. luckily I have two friends that have no problem listening to me go on and on, but my family has told me they've just learned to tune me out because if they ask me to stop I get upset.
as you can see, I guess I also have a tendency to over-explain myself but I don't know if that would count as an obsession :P

Age 50 onwards : The autism spectrum, after finding a few too many moments of recognition listenning to some public lectures recorded by Temple Grandin, Tony Attwood and others.

Age 29 to 32 or so : Basic psycology after a successful course of sessions with a counselling provider sorting out some of the difficulties with clsoe relationships.

These aren't obsessions as such, just casual interests:-

1. Writing stories (either about creepy stuff, or about family life)
2. British humour (TV sitcoms "Inbetweeners" and "Outnumbered")
3. Buses
4. Country life and beach life
5. The Sims and Rollercoaster Tycoon
6. The Simpsons
7. Social gossip
8. Creepy paranormal stuff
9. Shopping (when not crowded!)
10. Teddy bears
11. The 1990's
12. UK politics

Number 2 and number 7 are probably the closest to obsessions.

Have you checked out the East German Cold War Era bunkers? They were these crazy labyrinthine behemoths with hundreds (literally 8O ) of rooms. The airlocks were ridiculous. You had to enter about 5-7 separate chambers before you'd be considered decontaminated.
