If you watch "Elvira-Mistress of the Dark",
a movie for 1987 that I like, you will find
that the entrance of Downtowns 5 blocks
have a 1890's park design,
It is squared and a embroidered white seating
area with paths that lead to it's center from
each corner.
Elvira is a person like myself who wears black,
and drives a 60's black car and a "witch".
I am kindof like a witch, in philosophy.
As I walk at 7am in the misty downtown,
I am seeing a haven for witchcraft, but not
the attitude in the current Bedford that prevaded
in the movie I mentioned. Hmmm? I guess
the stake is being readied for me. I do wear
a 14k gold pentacle ring, and Elvira wore a magic
ring from her witch mom!
"Hey Ghosty, here's a stake, and no marshellows"!
Aweshucks! Now I am disappointed! Sniff-Sniff!

Bedford is probly 25k or less in population.
It has many older(50 years is young) buildings.
The local bookstore, magazine, smoke shop,
and hobby shop(one building) is reminenct of
Mayberry USA with Andy Griffith, and Ron
Howard TV Show. The window says it all
as well as the shop owner.
The shop owner seems to be the son of the
proprieter of this well established shop. I say
about 70 years old. In his window you see
a picture of Bedford in 1919, and 1950. It hasn't
changed much in the B&W TV show perspective.

This place holds a special place in my heart.
It is Mayberry 90%, But....It does have a
wifi place in downtown. The proprieter
complained about the stuckup attitude
of Yuppie visitors and I politely asked
if I was impolite. He offers smoking inside,
wifi, 3 terminals, and food. It is also a bar
at night. How "Mayberry USA" can you get!
There is a couple of well fitting in coffee shops
that resemble a big city type, and they don't
try to conflict with this MayBerry image.
There is a bus service and when I explored the
5 block stretch of Bedford, a few buses did pass
by.

Bedford lawns are city parks to us in big cities
and urban sprawl. The only other example
I have seen was in Apple-something that
BeeBee lives in. The only difference is the
blend of character is much better here.
Apple-something where BeeBee lives is a bit more
spread out and a car is much more neccessary
to go to downtown. This is the minor, minimal
flaw, but otherwise both places impress me.

I was completely wrong. His father arrived when
we were barbequing hamburgers in his backyard.
Prometheus's dad is giving, smart and compassionate.
He was a Manager-type at one point and now he
draws blood for hospitol samples and analysis.
His mother met me at the church. I originally thought
she was a fellow church goer. I later met her at the
house.
There house is BIG in the yard size. 1 acre, $99k in 1981.
The lawns sprawl and outsize the houses. I said that
if this were in Los Altos, or Palo Alto, California, this would
be a minium 1 million dollar home, but runs now about $300k
here.

He lives in a LARGE 20's house and nice new cars.
That is something I noticed here at Bedford alot.
The cars are relatively new. I guess they have jobs
outside Bedford, and that is another comparison
to Los Altos, and Palo Alto.

The number of seniors and almost non-existent number

It was mostly 65+ aged people. Usually it is hispanics

hispanics.
This makes me aware why it is so Mayberry USA without
Fortwayne dinosaurness attached.
