I like the fizzies but not at the fizziness level immediately after a drink has been opened.

Yes, I do. I love the burning sensation from the carbonated beverages. Often it will bring tears to my eyes. ... I might be a masochist as far as drinks go.

On of my favorite carbonated beverages is a type of mineral water called Ambo. It came in a glass bottle and was so bubbly that it would feel like your mouth might start bleeding.

My second favorite is Royal Crown's Tonic Water, which at 8000 feet elevation would blow up if you opened it too quickly, but it was very awesome.

American sodas are tame in comparison.

I developed a taste for those strong carbonated beverages because they counteracted the extremely spicy food my family ate.

I've always been disgusted by bubbles in drinks. When drinking milk or juice, I usually have to pop all the bubbles before I can drink it. With hot chocolate, I have to push back the bubbles at the front of the cup to create a space for me to drink from. Oddly though, I'm fine with bubbles in soda.

Me too, I actually developed a technique for pouring the liquids that reduces the amounts of bubbles.

I like carbonated drinks.
I have breathed down a straw into a non-carbonated drink to carbonate it.

I am a bit of the opposite, I love carbonation....sometimes it almost seems drinking flat stuff gets uncomfortable so I almost crave something bubbly. Though not much into overly sweet soda, I'd rather have a sparkling water than that.

I can't stand soda, at any degree of carbonation. It's a sensory nightmare for me.

Firstly, you pour slower than normal.
When you start pouring, pour at the center of the glass, then slowly pour around the edges. That should help get rid of the bubbles.
Also, I tend to use a larger than normal mug that is narrower at the base than then the top which also seems to help.

It may take some practice. Or I could be entirely wrong and it's just a ritual I do.

I also found the sensation of carbonated drinks to be quite painful and unpleasant when I was a child. Even though I can now tolerate that sensation, I still don't consume this type of beverage since I dislike the taste of most carbonated drinks (too sweet and artificial).

No I don't like them because they're unhealthy and because they burn my tongue, they don't exactly burn it but its the closest word that I remember to how I feel when I drink those drinks

No, not really. 99 times out of 100 I'll choose a still soft drink over a carbonated one. The only carbonated soft drink I really like is Coke from a glass bottle; it's less fizzy than from a can or plastic bottle and has a lovely flavour. Hard to find, though, and expensive.

Carbonated water can take a hike and get lost. Foul stuff, never drink it.

If alcohol counts, I do drink beer. Can't deal with sparkling wine though; the still stuff is bad enough, but sparking wine is an even more surefire route to dehydration and feeling utterly sick.

I'll drink soda, but I do wonder how people stand the texture of lettuce or tomatoes and things like meat, mayonnaise, and bread together in a sandwich. It's just so wrong.

ok thanks, i was sure that slow pouring would ease some of the bubbles (i've at least tried that before) but i wouldn't have guessed to pour along the edge.

i'm going to mexico in a few days and because of this thread i'm reminded of the MexiCoke trend, how it's supposedly more 'natural' tasting.

maybe i'll check it out. maybe.

I like soda and always have. I don't like fizzy water though. I know taste sensitivity issues suck sometimes, but at the same time not enjoying unhealthy food or drinks can be beneficial.
