I find heavy handed parents very hard to have to listen to. The screaming children don't bother me, it's their heavy handed parents. My parents were heavy handed towards me, yet they were easier on my sister. No wonder I turned out to be like Mick Avory.

For me, the worst sounds, are the little quiet noises in a room with hard walls, and hard floors. And it isn't even the sounds directly that bother me, it's the echoing of those little sounds off the walls and floors that get me. Rooms like what I described create a strong desire to leave, if I don't have the option to leave, I become all tense. I'm just now realizing that it is a flight or fight response. Get me outside, or in a carpeted room and those little subtle noises don't bother me.

Interestingly your replies to the topic correlate with one another, but not in the way I assume you two will understand. What I meant by "heavy-handed parents" did not dictate hands with a great weight too them, what I meant is that my mother cannot do anything f*****g quietly. And she's f*****g OCD in the kitchen, and with my bedroom directly above the f*****g kitchen, I cannot get a f*****g minute's peace. I'm having a meltdown right at this moment, and I'm very angry. It's a pisstake and nobody gets it at all.

"I understand" is a worthless statement from "normal people", it doesn't change a f*****g thing.

then it let out this really loud scream what actually shook me up.

I feel for you, that sounds horrible, yet, from what you type, it seems you dealt with it adequately well.

Although this upsets me as much as it does most others on the spectrum, I am able to look calm on the outside, to avoid drawing attention to myself.
