Good. It's gone!

I find rocking very calming.

When I was really young, I used to lay in bed and rock my head from side to side. I liked the noise it used to make on my pillow.

I never knew until a few months back but apparently, my sister busted me and I never knew about it all this time!

I used to rock alot while listening to music when in my room when I lived with my girlfriend but I quit doing it when I moved in with my girlfriend.

I rock. About half a year ago now, somebody in my family asked me what was bothering me because I was supposedly rocking rather intensely and when I responded with "Huh? I don't rock?" they laughed and told me that I rock often. I've taken notice more often since then and it's usually very slow and when I'm already comfy/calm.

Yes, I do rock on occasion while sitting on the floor. It mostly happens when I am severely stressed out at home. I first noticed it back when I was writing my dissertation, as I was having major problems with my research adviser at the time.

I am now 53 and was diagnosed with Aspergers at 50. According to my mother I used to rock my body back and forth in my crib so hard that my crib would move from one side of the room to the other. Then once I was in a regular bed I used to rock my whole body and head from side to side rather violently while sleeping so much so I would wake everyone up. Doctors said I did it because of insecurity. I have not rocked in bed now for over 30 years so that is under control. Now and then I catch myself rocking my upper body side to side when sitting at the computer or watching TV. I do find that it has a relaxing effect on me so I just do it for how ever long I want.

I read the title of this thread and thought "Yes, I rock therefore I am", like this was an affirmative feel-good topic. Then I opened it and saw it was about moving/rocking motion

I wasn't conscious of it until recently but in the past have been told I am fidgety/restless. I feel like I am always super tense and sitting very still but I do rock a little bit from side-to-side sometimes and don't realize it until I become aware of another person in my presence and then I focus on appearing "normal" which makes me super uncomfortable like I'm holding my breath and I have to "break free" and punch something and run away...

When I was younger and had really bad times I would curl up in a ball in a corner with my legs crossed, head on my knees, arms wrapped tightly around my legs, and bump my back against the wall for hours on end (after crying and hitting my forehead on my knees for a while first). I never knew this was weird.
