I have recently been diagnosed with Autism (Back in November 2014) And When I talk it feels really foreign, I hate talking :( Singing feels natural but talking feels awkward and unnatural for me, and when I do talk I stutter and get my words all mixed up, in order to talk normal I have to think about my words really carefully and say them slowly. Is any of this normal? I hate having to talk to people unless I know them because its so embarrassing.

I had delayed speech as a child and it has never felt natural to me. I have to translate what I'm thinking into words and it gets really challenging saying something and imagining what I sound like saying it at the same time. Sign language always made more sense to me than speech. In my mind I can converse just fine, but in reality, I often stumble over words no matter how careful I am. Music is easier than plain speech, and easier to remember :)

I stumble over or mumble my words all the time. I find that I have good things to say, but, as I start talking, I have to put so much effort into the act of speaking (speed, volume, choosing words and actually forming them) that I lose track of the content of what I'm trying to say.
