TYPES of ASD individuals from a professional source
Mostly WISC but there are parts of the ESC description that fit perfectly. I would like to see a more in depth description of a weak ESC vs a solid ESC.
It seems the biggest difference between WISC and SASC is that the social difficulties of a the SASC come from anxiety whereas the social difficulties of the WISC come from an actual lack in social thinking abilities (which can then lead to anxiety) It seems the SASC does have normal social thinking ability but that is hidden by social anxiety...remove the anxiety and allow them time to practice social thinking and a SASC could easily become an NSC. On the other hand a WISC has difficulties with or without anxiety. Anxiety isn't the initial cause of the social difficulties but is caused by having social difficulties and experiencing rejection.
WISC fits me pretty well but I can think of at least one example that better fits with ESC. I was being ignored by someone for months but thought that because I was standing next to her I was involved in the conversation. My mom told me she was ignoring me, but I didn't believe her for a few months then I figured it out. That seems more ESC than WISC...but there are a few things from ESC that don't fit. For example, something ending at 3:03 instead of 3:00 doesn't bother me though if it ended at 3:30 it would. Also I do not have difficulty with problem solving skills... I excel at problem solving. Maybe more categories are needed...or maybe they aren't supposed to be perfect and you are supposed to pick the one that fits best but that doesn't work for me.
