Family is in town, brought a bunch of new furniture into my house.everything is changing and messed up. I've lost my routine completely. Always people in my house. Always talking, about nothing.do they even listen to what they are saying? So there's that. Tonight I didn't eat because someone misplaced my bowl and spoon. I only have one. How hard is it to just leave it where it's always been. So my ASD is starting to really effect my life in a negative way and I don't know where to turn. So there's that.
Any advice or even a good jab will suffice, thanks for listening

Just one bit of advice:
Dew the dew, man.

Dew the dew.

I keep a bowl, spoon, fork, whatever else I personally love to use in my room.

When your head explodes please video tape it then upload it to Youtube, I'd love to see that! :D

Seriously, I'm sorry for your loss of routine. Hopefully you'll survive their visit.

^that's a good idea, to keep a set in your room. but one thing i'm thinking about, why do you only have one bowl and spoon, do you simply not have the need for one or is it something you can't afford?

dirty glasses half full at times, bowls, plates, accumulate in my sisters room every single day. i have to sleep in it, and i take them to the sink daily. she sometimes puts up a fight along the lines of "i'm using that!" when she hasn't touched it in hours.

Yeah, this one is a good idea.

I do similar things, if there's some object that I absolutely do not want anyone to touch, mess with, or misplace, or whatever, it's kept in a secluded spot in my room. Typically in the explosion of junk on this thing that passes for a desk here.

That way, no stress from losing whatever it is.

I also respond badly when my environment becomes filled with chaos and uncertainty.

Also, when someone uses that expression about heads exploding, it always reminds me of the first "Scanners" movie.

This sounds very, very painful. I am so sorry you are going through this. In similar situations, I try to keep to my room as much as I can (and just accept that my mental peace is more important than not wanting to hear the whispers about how 'rude' or 'weird' I am. In the end, I'm the one who has to live with the pain, not them. So I don't care much about what they might think. And I put up a calendar and mark of days with a sharpie as a countdown to a return to my home being a safe space again. Don't know if this will help. But your pain is real, and try to not allow any guilt to be felt about it.

I always stay in my room when there are too many people over. I get more irritated when I am having enough anxiety so things annoy me more like if something of mine was touched and moved. On Mother's day I had a blow out after dealing with lot of chaos. My husband had family over and so did my parents so kids were playing and there were toys scattered over and my husband kept bothering me because he kept needing me to do things and then my mother became the culprit when I blew up at her and she did nothing wrong. Or was it my daughter's birthday when it happened, I don't remember but it was last month when it happened. Then finally I was allowed to relax and my husband quit bothering me ordering me to do this or that.
