I don't find this useful for blocking sounds but I can tense something that makes a noise in my ears. Is that it?

I can also puff out the skin under my chin like a bullfrog and when people in real life see that they act like I'm the only person that can do that.

You mean most people can't do this?

Weird.

I can flex something near my ear that makes a rumbling sound at will.

Interesting. I've been able to do this for many years, and never thought about what it was. I hear that rumble every time I yawn.

I always just assumed everyone could do it, and that everyone heard that sound when yawning.

You telling me not everyone can? 8O

I can´t do it at will, but it goes crazy, when I hear loud, constant sounds, like choir, voices piano tones and even guitar tones - clap-clap, rattle-rattle. Awful, really. I guess, It is my ear muscles trying to establish a defence.

I can do it at will too, though I didn't know what the muscle was called.

Dguru, it seems related to ASMR (google that!) and clinical hypnosis for me. I get that noise during deep relaxation in imagery work durings schema therapy.
