I love that first sip of soda pop. I try to take a gulp immediately after cracking open the can. So fizzy it hurts! I can understand how it could bother some people with sensory issues, though.

I don't find carbonated drinks to be painful or even unpleasant, really, but they are very strange. I never "acquired the taste" for them. When I drink one by mistake I make a really weird face. Then I stop drinking it.

It's awkward to tell people I don't drink soda, though. They always seem to jump to the assumption that I'm opposed to it on health grounds, or something. Same with alcohol, actually. Even the non-carbonated kinds. I just don't like it that much.

Now THAT hurts! I've got kind of a temperamental nose, though.

I love carbonated drinks. Yes, they tingle in the mouth and throat---but that feels good. I find Pepsi to be less harsh than Coke. I do admit that to take a big drink of cold Coke straight from the can to be a bit over-tingly. I usually put carbonated drinks on ice. However, I usually like Mountain Dew straight from the plastic bottle or can.

Yeah, I find carbonated drinks painful to drink as well. When I was younger I wouldn't drink soda at all because I couldn't stand the sensation. I don't mind it as much anymore, though, and I've recently started drinking a lot of seltzer water / club soda because I find it helps with nausea and stomachaches (which I get often). I still don't drink much sweetened soda - never got into the habit I guess.
