I like to cook, but dont see it as a prominent hobby of mine. I'm not "crazy" over it as they say. I am actually one of these kind of people who would be okay even with just an open can of sardines for dinner/night before I go to bed. Things that require cooking, like meat, eggs etc. are things I have to cook and so I have to do it with these foods. I always hated the work and effort required for cooking, especially more complicated things, like salsa etc. So I'm okay with cooking, but dont really LOVE it that much or want to do it so often, only when I have to, or when it is something that requires cooking to be consumed(like what I mentioned). :)

Ok literally every thing you wrote after the line " I like to cook" basically implies that your really dislike cooking...lmao

I'm okay with cooking, but dont look to do it as frequently as you(or others) may do, because it is not something I consider enjoyable or as a long term hobby. When I want to eat, I dont really care about how the food was prepared or made, I just care about the fact that I'm hungry and need to find something to eat. What I insert into my mouth matters to me much more than food making itself. I could go to a restaurant and not give a s**t about how they prepared their food, as long as it tastes good. :)

I love to cook in general, particularly sauces. I don't can my salsa as my favorite is a basic pico de gallo, which of course is served fresh.

my dad does an ok Tomatillo Salsa. As far as cooking goes for me, I sometimes like to have Quinoa cooked with chicken stock with bacon and cheese. Sometimes I like to have fry bacon, bannanas, and black beans togetherwith tapatio (yes, you heard me.... bannanas fried in bacon grease with hotsauce is amazing!)

I also really like making pasta.

I think it's common knowledge that bacon makes everything better, even sex :P

I'm OK at cooking, but usually I'm too lazy to do it. :P Which reminds me, I need to do some grocery shopping.

I like very hot and spicy food but I'm too lazy to do the cooking myself. I don't like the mess involved in cooking, especially the oil splash etc. I avoid oily cooking in order to keep the kitchen clean. I do do less messy cooking though.

I'd like some hot and spicy sauce with a strong citrus/grapefruit taste that is not sweet. Would you consider making something like that?

Sounds like you're describing a pollo loco marinade. The base is some sort of citrus juice (I like lime best) and then add in Mexican oregano, cilantro, garlic, and as much chili peppers as you like, although you can use Asian chili/garlic paste as a substitution. Use this as a marinade for chicken and reduce some of it to make a sauce to serve with it.

Sounds awesome, I love hot spicy food (and tricking others into trying it, ). Will be giving that a go later this week.

Cooking has been an obsession of mine for about 15 years, It's sensory heaven and is very rewarding to my perfectionist tendencies, each time I cook a dish I try to make it better than the last time.

I go through phases of making everything from scratch, usually when I have plenty of time to spare, I love perfecting recipes, and substituting ingredients. Most of the time cooking is just something that has to be done.
Your salsa sounds a touch too spicy for my tastebuds, I use chillies in marinades, or with cacao. Got any mild options?

I'm not a person who likes too much variation in what I eat. If I like the ingredients, I'm too conservative to switch ingredients.

When I go to an Indian restaurant, I always order the puffy bread and some curry dish.

I tend to stick to pasta/rice, steak, chicken, tomato/cheese sauces, and a variety of vegetables (though NOT celery!--if there celery in anything, I will not eat it).
