I'm done here...... I'll maintain contact with the friends I have made here, but this board is getting overran by trendy emo kids and immature childish morons. This isn't even hardly an autism board anymore, it's just here to whore our community out to NT fashion trends of pretending to be disabled to seek pity from people. Honestly it disgusses me. I can't even state common since facts without people chewing my head off and getting over-emotional of the fact that the truth isn't totally biased in their favor. I've clearly got better things to do in my time than to argue common since with so-called "intellectual" spoiled emo tards. To the few here who are cool, take care and may happiness find you. To the rest of you, well you can rot in hell for all I care.

If you wanna leave the forum, that's ok but do you really have to make a f*****g thread about it. I somewhat agree with your statement but the real issue with this forum is how the aspies in this forum whine about how people don't understand them and they'll never have trustworthy friends. Not to mention stir up deluded BS about how they're so much better than NTs.

Personally, I'd rather people just point out exactly what they mean when they claim there are NTs pretending. Otherwise it just makes everyone nervous, either thinking they're talking about them, or wondering if it's true, or whatever.

Instead of giving up and leaving, we should be trying to make this place better and dealing with the core of the problem.

But alot of people have said that they recognize this problem. It also discourages me from this place at time - not a good feeling for anyone.

The notion that some how an all aspie community would be better than the typical world
of 98%+ NTs is likely false. Aspie do not have some magic that allows them to communicate with each other any better than they can with NTs. In theory problems could be more common here. I think one of the good things is alot of people understand that here. So the important lesson to learn is accepting lots of problems is a
critical thing one must do if they remain on WP.

So what's the actual problem? I think a lot of us keep hearing this, and have no idea what people are talking about. It just sounds paranoid to me, unless I'm missing something (which I probably am since I'm not reading like every post or anything).

There are a couple of NT's about - I'm one of them. I'd say that every one of them has a reason to be here though - my boyfriend is an Aspie and I want to understand better what it's like for him. Reading other people's experiences here has been really helpful to me.

I very much doubt that there would be anyone on here pretending. Why would they?

I'm new to the board, but I do get the sense that a lot of the people posting are quite young (which is possibly why snake is annoyed about "emo-kids"). I think it's great that young people are on here though - this is a place they can come to feel welcome and understood, and can learn from the experiences of others who have had many more years to learn to deal with their AS. I think this place offers young people with AS something really special and unique.

I witness on occasion some individuals being needlessly hostile, aggressive and bullies. I mean, it's fine to disagree on a point, even disagree strongly, but when you talk down to the other person and make them feel like dirt for holding a contrary view is unacceptable. I feel sorry for those of us who are Christian and trying to discuss their beliefs and ideas - they get unfairly harassed and shot down all too often by the atheist majority.

I'm pretty new here (a month, maybe), part of what I love is that this is an active forum, and am hoping this isn't the start of some mass exodus the cause of which I don't understand somehow. As far as I'm concerned, a thread, a post can be ignored, if I don't like it. I'm not saying there isn't some offensive stuff here, but 'offensive' is also a very subjective term. Did you discuss this with any moderators?

BTW, I'm 48 yrs. old, so I'm not one of the kids.

Thanks for announcing your departure Snake321 for had you not done so I might not have noticed. :)

You might have given some examples of the trendy emo kids that you think have overrun the board because with over ten thousand members here it is not likely that that was aimed at any more than 1% of the population, so how are we (or they) supposed to know who they are. One does not have to pretend to be disabled to seek pity from others, I have known some really disabled people to do that and I have known some disabled people who do not like to be pitied.

There are a lot of pointless posts here (including this one because if you are truly gone you are not going to read it, are you?), however I don't think the problem is bored NT's that come here to pick on the freaks as much as it is bored Aspies that come here to play. It can be anoying to have to skim through 10 -15 posts to get to one that is worth reading and if you have something better to do with the time, that's great and I wish you well; for my part I don't, so some posts make it worth it.
