Anyone else get gibbed by the "asperger experts" p
OK, let's imagine that we need information on, say, how to raise zebras, lions, giraffes and hippos.
Two kids fresh out of college, who have a zebra, put up a web site and sell expensive advice that is personal opinion only. They have no credentials and very little life experience. They've only had one zebra for ten years or so. Their advice MIGHT apply to some of the issues involved with raising zebras, but the lions, giraffes and hippos will have to take their chances. They aren't veterinarians. They've never worked at a zoo. They just have a zebra in their backyard and do the best they can with it, though they have a lot of money to buy zebra feed.
Would you listen to them? Probably not for money. You might read their opinions in a forum somewhere and try out one or two. But it's very unlikely you would invest much money or effort into what they say.
On the Internet, no one knows you're a dog.
Don't waste your time with this company. If you've bought their products and didn't like them, email them for a refund (they do at least stand by their money-back guarantee refund policy).
These guys are making an obscene amount of money on a keep-buying-more scheme, and all of their products are 90% repackaged content. I've watched several of their videos and they all boil down to "calm down when you're frustrated, try to actually connect with your kid, and actually listen to your kid". You don't need to pay several hundred dollars to hear some unlicensed 20-somethings tell you that being kind to your kid will help you get through to them.
I subscribed to Aspergerexperts. I thought some of their advice was insightful - but EVERYTHING was a lead in to sell you something. Nothing is free. When you join their group, $14.99/month, auto renewal unless you send them a cancellation in writing.... you then have access to their webinars. But those start off with some good advice and always end in a sales pitch to sell you a product to get the 'rest' of the solution. (no, you can't actually send in questions, the webinars are pre-recorded) It's all incredible and aggressive marketing on their part. They play on parent guilt and exhaustion - 'if you are a good parent and want to help your child, you will buy this....'
Their latest product is a $200 CD to 'help your child.' I did buy one of their less expensive products, that they absolutely guaranteed would save you from ever fighting with your child again, and he would be self motivated to do all of his homework, etc...... It turn out to just be a silly 'agreement' that you both sign. Their logic, if your child signs it, and you agree to also give him what he wants - then peace and harmony will rain down. Well, my teenage just laughed at the whole concept and continued on his merry way of being a stubborn teenager.
My conclusion - this is strictly a business for these guys. I don't think they are out to charitably help anyone. They even have a product (where you get to speak to them!! !) for $9000. Short of paying them more and more money, they are useless.

They can FOAD for that kind of money.
You can get world-class help from proven experts with impeccable credentials for $9000.
Preying on the desperation of suffering, confused people sickens me.
f**k them
I also purchased the aspergers experts deep into defense mode course for my son and so far I think it's helpful. I've learned a few things. Did I need to pay all that $ to hear them tell me to be nice to my kid and keep frustration out? Probably not, but it helped hearing people with the same diagnosis talk about how they cope.
If anything, it helped me look at myself and how to be a better parent so I can help him as best I can. Sometimes my approach was all wrong. Sometimes it made it worse. I now know how to help him help himself-if that makes sense. I also tried making a contract with him for some things he procrastinates about (hygiene) and it's been working. Once he signed it he is complying usually without an argument! I think it was worth it even if we only got a few little tips out of it. I am also sharing with a friend of mine who has a son with aspergers.
I subscribed to Asperger Experts for several months. This is what I found. The business is run by two men who were diagnosed with Aspergers as kids. They do have some good insight -but at a significant price. Beware, when you subscribe, you will be inundated with emails and 'free short videos' from these guys Danny and Hayden. Everything they send you is a clever advertisement for an over the top, absolutely this will change your child's life!... product. They are 'Experts' at creating guilt 'if you don't buy this to help your child now!! !' And they push their products relentlessly. They have the solution to all your problems!! !! ! Just pay them $200 here and another $200 there. I googled their company, and these two guys are raking in over 1 million a year. I purchased one product, pushed as the absolute solution to motivate your child to do homework or anything else - and I got a silly piece of paper from them with instructions to have your child sign a contract saying they will do these things. It was an absolute joke, but the marketing for it was extremely clever. Parent are easy targets for people peddling the solution to help your troubled child. I have found, their products are over priced and greatly exaggerated.
I read about the Autism Experts, too, a couple months ago. Maybe, I am cheap by nature, but I smelled them coming toward me from 2,000 miles away. I even doubted that they had ever really been diagnosed as autistic. Even if they had been honest and legitimate, I couldn't have afforded their "help" at any price approaching what they asked. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Their "life coach" is a 21 year old sex offender, convicted of Lewdness involving a child.
This isn't just some 18 year old feeling up his 17 year old girlfriend. From the Utah code:
76-9-702.5 Lewdness involving a child.
(1) A person is guilty of lewdness involving a child if the person under circumstances not
amounting to rape of a child, object rape of a child, sodomy upon a child, sexual abuse of
a child, aggravated sexual abuse of a child, or an attempt to commit any of those offenses,
intentionally or knowingly does any of the following to, or in the presence of, a child who is
under 14 years of age:
(a) performs an act of sexual intercourse or sodomy;
(b) exposes his or her genitals, the female breast below the top of the areola, the buttocks, the
anus, or the pubic area:
(i) in a public place; or
(ii) in a private place:
(A) under circumstances the person should know will likely cause affront or alarm; or
(B) with the intent to arouse or gratify the sexual desire of the actor or the child;
(c) masturbates;
(d) under circumstances not amounting to sexual exploitation of a child under Section 76-5b-201,
causes a child under the age of 14 years to expose his or her genitals, anus, or breast, if
female, to the actor, with the intent to arouse or gratify the sexual desire of the actor or the
child; or
(e) performs any other act of lewdness.
I'm sure it's the same Travis, too:
This should be reported. I don't know if it's legal. It sure as hell isn't ethical. Their customer based has a right to know that the "life coach" who is talking to them about their kids, or who might even be talking TO their kids through "coaching", is a f*****g sex offender.
Plus he's 21. Life coach? Hardly.
I haven't invested a dime yet but watched their webinar about Defense Mode. Having a son with Aspergers and dealing with the difficulties of this for several years, and learning a fair amount, these guys have credibility. I don't know where some of you have seen a video they sell for $100. Their Defense Mode 4 week course is $187 with full money back guarantee. Having made substantial investments already for help, this is an extremely modest sum. My only concern is signing up, paying the $187 and then getting nothing and no response. This has happened to my wife with a phone salesman selling educational materials. It was obvious this scammer used social media to get inside with the scamee. I am just doing some due diligence to determine whether that is the case with these guys. Unless I find out it is, I am willing to gamble as it seems like a reasonable one.
Speaking of scams, I got scammed $5000 by a neuropsychologist whose office had us sign a statement upfront to protect them legally stating that we accept responsibility for all expenses. My insurance company would pay nothing because they considered it educational testing and the practitioner should have known that. There is more on this that I will not go in to here. The man's name is Barry Ekdom in Northern Virginia.
Everyone please save your money, you will get nothing valuable from the AE kids. Just listen to their public videos, they talk a lot and say absolutely nothing. They show absolutely no knowledge, let alone understanding, of the underlying issues of autism. Nothing but red flags there.
If they refuse to return your money then report them to the Better Business Bureau.

If you have the CD of Get into Defense mode or what not, could you share it with people like me?
These guys have now targeted meetup.com Only 15 people from my area signed up. The organization has setup in about 37 different cities so far. Same organizer in each meetup. Coorganizer for my city appears to be from my area so far. No future meetups planned. The only previous meetup appeared to have been cancelled with my guess as to why being that only one person outside the coorganizer was attending.

Ha ha, was your example of zebras, lions, giraffes and hippos inspired by the movie Madagascar?
