I know they can cause sensory overload but I know some absolutely love them. I used to love the rides but as I have gotten older they make me queasy. Also, I'm not a fan of huge crowds...I get impatient waiting in lines.

I love them even though I'm generally not a fan of crowds. But this kind of crowd is worth putting up with because of the payback of rides I enjoy, and the general atmosphere of fun.

As with everything though, I need to have some control over how when I choose to go and how long I want to stay. If I start to get overloaded I want to know I can leave.

Hello, I don't really like amusement parks because they are loud and take up to much time! I rather do something more fun like...Go to an art museum or a historical site. Sometimes those places are not as much of an overcrowd and a quiet place to go to. :D

I like amusement parks, but I don't like rides at all. I don't get motion sickness or anything, but I get a strong fight-or-flight response that makes me feel terrible. I know some people enjoy that feeling and/or can overcome it just by knowing logically that they aren't really in danger, but to me it feels exactly the same as if I'm about to die. I hate feeling that way, and have completely panicked on rides before (back when I was young and my dad would force me to go on them). Nothing fun about it.

However, I do like walking around amusement parks and seeing everything, going into the shops, watching the shows, etc. I don't really mind the crowds because there are usually places you can go to get away from them, but sometimes they are overwhelming. There are one or two gentle rides that I don't mind, but I wish they offered a non-rider price because I'd be happy to skip them too if it meant I could pay less.

I absolutely love them. I love scary rides like big roller coasters, they're a great stress reliever for me. Maybe the music can be annoying but it's still fun being there.. Yes, it can be overstimulating but that's the idea, it's not something anyone would want to do everyday.

I don't know how about sensory loads and whatnot I cannot relate to everyone here.

I've been to one once... it was fun :) , however Acrophobia kinda made me terrified of heights, whereas I wasn't before getting on that ride.

I do remember that I was rather exhausted after the day though, didn't know about AS at the time and just chalked it up to the excitement.

I'd go again given the chance, maybe as a date if I ever found a GF with somewhat childish tastes.

I love the rides and funnel cakes. :D I don't love the crowds though. I don't mind standing in line as long as there is no one popping gum of making noises like that or smelling of perfume near enough to affect me. The mixes of sounds can be overwhelming though and if there are any heavy bass sounds that can be very bad. I also prefer to go during the day because then all the lights are not as pronounced. But I do really enjoy roller coasters and fun rides.

I don't like amusement parks.
They are too artificial.
I prefer nature parks.

The only amusement park I have ever liked is Disneyland. But, not for the rides (I don’t really care for roller coasters or other “thrill” rides). And, definitely not for the crowds. I just remember having this magical feeling when I was there. Then again, I haven't been there in many, many years.

I love roller coasters, so I do like amusement parks that have a lot of those types of rides. As an adult, I find Disneyland to be boring, and way too crowded since the ever increasing ticket and pass prices haven't done anything to limit the crowds. For me, if I were to go to an amusement park today, I'd rather go to Knott's Berry Farm which isn't that far from Disneyland because it has mostly roller coasters, and the annual pass is still cheaper than Disneyland.

I like nothing about amusement parks. I also would much rather be in nature!

There's a young man on here who was going to do some reviews of amusement parks for autism-friendliness. I'm not sure if he had the chance to get much in before the weather got cold but if anyone wants I can email him and see if he ever got a site up.

I don't really care for them. I'm prone to motion-sickness so I need to avoid lots of the rides

I always enjoyed amusement parks, and especially the rollercoasters and other similar rides.

I like the adrenaline rush of roller coasters, and at the scariest moment I laugh uncontrollably. It seems to flood my body with feel-good endorphins. If it were feasible I would probably ride one everyday, preferably with my eldest grandson who adores them too. We like being right up in the front set (it's scarier). We cool off afterward on the Floating Logs.

The one ride I can't stand though are Ferris Wheels, they trigger my phobia about being trapped, unprotected at a height and I dislike the feeling of being vulnerable and powerless that this triggers for me. I can't ride in ski-lifts either without feeling uneasy. I can't even climb ladders! But the rollercoaster is fine.
