Hi

When I get really stressed I usually have a meltdown, but afterwards I have a period of Mania. I have brilliant ideas (or at least I think they are at the time). I can't stop talking and quite often people don't understand what I am talking about (I miss out information and I think everyone knows what I know). I am not looking for a reciprocal conversation, I think it's just how I process information sometimes. My mind is constantly working (I love it) but it becomes very tiring because I can't sleep well. I wear myself and others out. Reflecting on what's happened this time and in the past i only have this mania when I am extremely stressed. Am I unsual, does anyone else experience this?

Thanks

Not necessarily to the extent that you describe, but I do have hypomanic episodes that are followed and preceded by mildly depressive episodes. Both hypomania and hypodepression tend to take about two weeks. During my manic periods I don't talk to people about the things that are on my mind, but I tend to read and write lots and lots, and then attempt to organize the information. Unfortunately most of it is undone during my depressive periods.

I too have a depressive period after that period I described as mania, the whole episode lasts about two weeks. Is stress a trigger for you?
