I don't find people here pushy any more than anywhere else. There's a certain bluntness to the way some people communicate that sometimes seems a little too forthright on first reading, and I can sound like a pompous ass myself at times - but I try to remember that it's usually just a different communication style rather than malice (aside from one little outburst while I was settling in - sorry Fnord!)
Anyhow, how did I find out about WrongPlanet.
When the possibility of me being autistic was first suggested, the psychologist asked me to take a look at the National Autistics Society website to see if I recognised any of the traits (the NAS is the main UK autism charity - it's a first point of contact for a lot of us over here). Because I already liked forums as a form of communicating with people who share my special interests, I clicked through a few links and ended up here. After a bit of lurking, I decided I really liked it, and decided to dive in.
