Whereabouts in New York do you live? Your avatar looks like my favorite bike trail.

Hey, Richie. I'm from Pleasantville, which is in Westchester County, about 25 miles from NYC. I took this picture in Pennsylania though, which is where I'm going to school. I guess I technically should change my location to Pennsylvania, but I identify as a New Yorker, and plan on going back there when school is done, so that's why I put "New York." New York is my permanent home.

You're from the York County in Pennsylvania? (I see your location is listed as Pennsylvania) I think my cousin lives there, but I'm not sure which town.

Certainly not for five munites, but I have times where everything goes dotty yellow and black, with fuzzy edges and a high-pitched fizzy ring in my ear for about eight seconds. I sit down immediately when that happens to make sure that if I faint, I don't fall very far. It almost always happens when I get up too quickly or on hot days with little circulation at wherever I am. I can't imagine being exposed to the same feeling for five whole minutes, though...

I am from Long Island. I moved to Pennsylvania some five years ago. I now live in York County,
The city of York to be specific. Lake Whoop-Dee-Doo is about as real as Lake Wobegon. :P :P :P

If it happens when you stand up, it's called "orthostatic hypotension". That just means that your blood pressure drops suddenly upon standing up, especially when you've been sitting for a while. Everyone in my family gets this.

Gotcha. I hadn't been sure if that was a real lake or not- I thought it was possible though.

This has happened to me a few times, the last time it happened I was at the dentist in the dentist chair just waiting for them to come see me. Something about the smell in the dentist office just gets to me.

I am wondering how common it is to AS be "low".I have always felt "barely alive".I have low blood-pressure,low body temp, low thyroid level, low energy(unless I am doing something very physical and repetitive, then I can become a little manic)low blood suger(most of my family is over weight and Type 2 diabetic but I have always been thin).I was also told recently that I was anemic and have to take some Iron.

If you get your thyroid checked make sure they do a FreeT3,FreeT4 test,as it is considered the most accurate.Lots of info about thyroid on internet(some of it is pretty scary, about relation to low thyroid and use of flouride in our water.....they use to use flouride to lower thyroid levels????and now it's in the water and our toothpaste....hummm)Low thyroid is supposed to be one of the most common under diagnosed illnesses. Many people have border-line low thyroid and DRs clam you are "normal range" and wont give you a prescription(although the medication is very cheap)and some people believe that what is "normal" in average population maybe "to low" for their bodies to function at it's best.A low thyroid can cause an inbalance in the rest of the bodies hormones. One reason I was thin and had a low thyroid(usually it makes people gain weight if it's low)is that the DR said my adrinal gland had been pumping out to much(to compinsate for the low thyroid) and that what was causeing the "panic attacks" and racing heart at odd moments.I had very shakey hands(like after to much coffee) and that was the first thing to stop when I went on the meds.
