I don't like extreme heat mixed with humidity. I don't like cold either.

I have to take hot showers because that tiny hint of cold air makes my whole body feel cold.

If I feel heat on my hands however I don't like that. For example, the same temperature for my hot shower all over my body to eliminate the feeling of cold over air could be too hot for my hands when washing just my hands.

I get hot quickly and often sweat badly. Due to my SPD I have serious issues with "piping hot" food and can't tolerate hot beverages at all as my mouth seems to get burned easily. I'm not a fan of cold weather either, because I can't stand being "bundled up" in bulky clothing. In addition I have trouble walking in heavy boots and can't tolerate those tan suede workboots at all as well as any cowboy boots. I can only use something like hi-top sneakers for winter boots. FWIW, I can handle hot baths if I give myself time to adjust, but never hot showers.

I am liable to flip out and get overwhelmed frequently if the temperature goes above 16 degrees for more than a few days! Combined with the heinous blasting sunshine it can make me very miserable, I enjoy wallowing under clouds, preferably with frequent storms and showers! I don't mind coldness to be honest I don't exactly live in the arctic so it's never really terribly freezing though I don't like much below -10 but anything else is fine. I don't even know when I last bothered with a coat, I've always been told I am like an evolved vampire, I like darkness and coldness and flinch at light and heat if they penetrate my processing for too long...

I can't answer the why of it, but I suppose it goes along with other kinds of sensory overload experienced by people on the spectrum. I'm in the camp that can't stand to be hot. Living in Tennessee, that makes the long summers (typically in the 90s F) hard to endure. I mostly stay indoors on the hottest days, only going out to work and mow the lawn once a week or so.

Indoors, I like it about 68F. I don't usually wear a jacket outside unless it's below about 45F (or very windy). My office area at work is usually in the low 70s, so I keep two small fans going in my cubicle.

I really hate being too hot, it makes me angry. I can handle being cold though.

I'm really sensitive to cold temperatures, I hate them. I wear like 3 or more layers in the winter. I wear extra thick thermal socks most of the year round as well. I always dress for 10-15°C colder than those around me do.

I have a very hard time dealing with the heat. I have a very hard time eating when it's hot and I find myself drinking too much water.

Once I worked with a woman with autism in an institution, she needed help for everything. So I used to help her in the shower, and I had to be very careful because as soon as I looked away she would set the water so hot that she could even get burned, and she seemed to like it.

It's everything about a different processing of the sensorial information. Same as perceiving some sounds as very aggressive or disliking too much certain materials. Or being mesmerized by shiny reflections on water. It's possibly due to an excessive number of neural connections, but it's not 100% clear.

I struggle with either end, my ideal temperature range is about 10c to 21c on the other hand I love, love, love really hot baths, saunas, hot tubs etc and I swim in the North sea every year from about April/May to August/September and it rarely gets much above 8c. The biggest thing for me though is wind, I cannot stand the sensation of anything blowing on my skin.

I have problems when the comfortable temperature changes by as little as 1 or 2 degrees F. It makes me crazy...
