Sensitivity to tastes, smells, food, sounds?
My younger brother has been playing his guitar on a large amp a lot lately, and I typically hide away in my room until he stops. Not that his "music" is particularly bad, but it is quite loud, and I don't know how he or my father deals with being so close to it. I always get a fear of hearing loss around it.
This reminded me of my gagging sensitivity to foods, whether I smell or taste something I dislike. I just feel sick, gag it up, whatever. It ties in with me barely being "able" to eat anything, in that I very rarely try new foods or eat things I deem foreign. Does anyone else think they feel the same way, or share similar experiences?

There are a lot of foods I dislike, and some of them make me feel sick. If I have to smell some of the food I dislike, I sometimes feel nauseous. I remember arguments and fights with my parents when I was growing up because I would refuse to eat a whole lot of foods. Now that I'm grown up and retired, I can eat or not eat whatever I choose.
I'm pretty sensitive to sounds and food. There's a lot of food I don't like, and this always caused arguments with my family when I was younger as I refused to eat a lot of meals because I really didn't enjoy them. I also, for one, can absolutely not stand eating the fat on steaks and lamb chops. It makes me gag to the point where I feel like I'm nearly going to throw up. My family always thought it was strange that I basically eat the same stuff every day, and I'm okay with that.
As for sound, I'm pretty sensitive to loud sounds. My step dad likes to blast his music through the house, and I can't stand it. I always close my door but I can still hear it. It's really annoying. Even little sounds that most people easily ignore I can't stand, like the sound of people chewing their food. It makes me cringe a lot. School is the worst out of them all, because I can literally never concentrate or do my work with the constant students yelling and chatting. This leads to bigger problems as I don't get work done. This has always been an issue for me, ever since the beginning of school.
I've been to a few concerts, and those are pretty bad too. It's like there's so much noise at concerts I can't really hear anything at all, not even really the music playing.
So yeah, all this stuff is pretty common among ASD people.
