For two days now, I am seeing a constant barrage of these idiots who sign up to spam the crap out of us. It used to be once in a while, late at night (where I am).

Now it's constant.

I hate these predator types.

Yeah...they got nothing better to do!

They think we are having problems with our marriage or whatever LOL

I think this site, and others like it, are targets because they see specialty forums that cater to 'social issues' and other things like that as an easy market.

i don't ever see this on modeling forums, or car forums or any type of forum that does not represent some form of mental issue.

I think they see us as lonely, disabled, easy marks.

What I find funny is that they have exactly the same thread with 2 gazillion titles, as if it's marketing 101....sell the product as many ways possible to broaden appeal.

Personally, I think I'll take more private approach, learn to deal with my problems the best I can and hope that I will be reborn, as Koothrappali once said, "a well-hung billionaire with wings!"

Got a better chance with that than these spammer hucksters.

Defintely. And, even with all the movies, TV shows and popular culture in general that portrays them properly, people still fall for that crap.

It's just so annoying to pop into the forums with one or two or even more pages of their crap to filter to find new threads you want to look at.

I know it's got to be a nightmare for the mods and site managers, etc.....

It looks like a bot to me. Implementing something like a captcha or rate-limiting new threads would probably stop it.

wow...they're hitting hard now. 7.5 pages of junk. No way to know when it will stop.

I used to volunteer with a refugee population and they would get spam phone calls from people preying on them, trying to trick them into wiring money. I guess thinking since they were new to this country they were new to world in general. No one ever fell for it, but it was also a targeted social group attack like these people that keep hitting WP.

It's just so annoying. I'm trying to read people's thoughts and suggestions and such to better educate myself and all they do is clog things up.

I'm curious about the 'free voodoo love spell' though... With my divorce imminent, this could be a handy new life skill!

Signed in for the first time in a couple days, and holy cow... that's a lot of spam I see. WOW. I've never seen something like it.

That's all happened in the last few hours. And it keeps coming on and on and on.....

I don't think they have to create an account to post actually. That may be one reason.

What a mess! That will take forever to clean up. Poor moderators. I've never seen a site be spammed so badly. What jerks.
