Well CBD is technically not a drug as it won't get you high any bit and it can be extracted from industrial hemp. It's legal at least in europe.
Anyways I came across this study: Cannabinoid receptor type 2, but not type 1, is up-regulated in peripheral blood mononuclear cells of children affected by autistic disorders.
Which says CB2 receptors are upregulated in Autism and CBD could exactly adresses THAT as it antagonises CB2 receptors (among other things). It's also an Immunosuppressive substance.
CB2 receptors are implicated in immune system and autism has been linked to autoimmune system many times in the past.
Needless to say, the crazy person that I am, I smoked some industrial hemp (don't ask why I have it. It's legal here. It has CBD and no THC (wont get you high). thats the point.) and it has a very relaxing and soothing effect on me.

Could this be a good idea? I have heard here and there about people treating their children with regular marihuana......

Possibly Aspie (diagnosed by an autism expert, doc moves abroad, forced to change docs and all say it's schizophrenia NOS or schizo-affective disorde or personality disorders. initial doc was a colleague of uncle Simon btw. you do the math.). (edit: by Uncle Simon I mean Simon Baron Cohen. Just to clear things up.)

Self-diagnosing, self-prescribing, and self-medicating are never good ideas, especially when done all together.

See a doctor first, get the prescription, and then follow the treatment that the doctor has prescribed.

There are these concepts called "desparation" and "novelty seeking" and I have plenty of both. And I'm not aware of any doctor in a radius of 2000 km's that would prescribe me CBD and not aware of a pharmacy which would fill the prescription with standardized pills in the same radius so I have to do it myself. What if CBD is the only thing that would help me? unlikely but what if? should I wait 20 years for the studies to show up?

I've been using CBD oil for over a year. It helps A LOT..... It doesn't cure you, though. However, it's safer than many pharmaceuticals. I live in California, USA. So I can obtain it legally here. I have only found 1 brand that works for me. Here's a video with a lot of useful information.

Just go to the store in your neighborhood where they sell it. It's also supposed to help people in chronic pain.

You do realize that there is a world outside Calif. right?

The fact is it is not available and not legal, in almost all states, and provinces, and countries on Earth.

So it is very easy to say 'Just go to the store in your neighborhood where they sell it.' but reality is quite different.

I wish the pharmaceutical companies would study hemp more. I suspect it is useful for all kinds of stuff. And not just medicine, but textiles and food.

I'm starting to have my doubts :(
Especially after the OP already replied to Fnord as to why he smokes his home-grown industrial hemp

From the link I posted earlier:
Quote:
Purified CBD has been shown to have antipsychotic and anti-anxiety effects, and can lessen the psychotic symptoms normally experienced by people given high doses of THC. Research by University College London also suggests that people who smoke cannabis rich in CBD are less likely to experience “schizophrenia-like symptoms” than those who smoke cannabis containing only THC.

So yes, the pharma are interested.
In the money that can be made from it anyway...

Try CW botanicals (Actually a Christian company)

I got the 1500mg of CBD oil (legal in all 50 states) and it's starting to do wonders and with my doctor's help, I'm weaning off of about half of my pharm medications so far.

People are telling me I'm starting to make eye contact and I'm not irritated all the time with sounds and lights and being in public. I'm starting not to want to die all the time. It's really worth trying, I think it's a miracle, for me anyway.

It gives zero "high." It's grown from a specific "Charlotte's Web" hemp strain. Best thing I've ever taken hands down. And now it's legal in all 50 states the way they do it and no addiction potential. It's helping my nervous system disorder pain too. My mind is much more focused and not ADD-like anymore and I'm able to read and remember what I read better without losing train of thought. Able to focus in conversations. The stuff is a miracle, I can't wait for it to become more mainstream after the rest of the stigma against it dies down.

Just research the CW botanicals and watch some of the video's. Some people with seizures and severe pain need a little THC though which isn't legal in most states but this is a HUGE thing to have CBD made from hemp available now everywhere! It's in dropper form and I guess a vaporizer form, but I just do the drops.

I was in isolation for about 5 years and now have 2 friends. Quit nicotine recently. Idk, but I'm doing better going off my seroquel and effexor so far. But I'm also trying to eat healthier and move around more so it's an overall thing but a lot of it is because of the CBD. I'm just not depressed anymore. I still have klonopin for my nerves but I hope to be off everything but the CBD oil and klonopin for backup in the next few months (with doctors help, do not attempt to change medications on your own!)

imho, doctors can receive social promotions and be overworked, even assuming that they have no personal biases or malice. They have access to useful resources and clearances, but are not infallible.

I find that edible products help with IBS symptoms and that Celiac disease is often associated with ASD. It is not entirely clear, whether the mind is affecting the body or vice versa.

I would caution people about eating strong concentrates, as most smoke is generally evacuated on exhaling.

Also, stimulant strains may trigger paranoia, while relaxing strains may trigger depression. Either may potentiate prescription medicines, resulting in unexpected side effects.
