How did you know it wasn't you?

I wasn't really acting too weird at the time, I was just hanging out in a quiet part of the school. I have no reason to believe that they were talking about me because I don't see how they could know given what they saw. Also, it seemed like that was a part of the natural flow of the conversation and not like the conversation was interrupted to point out an observation from what I can tell. It seemed to me that they were talking about somebody they knew and I didn't recognize either of them. It could be that they were in the class with me when I was having the overload and it was just coincidence that I overheard them, but I think that's unlikely.

Maybe they saw you acting weird another day.

My brother-like neighbour: Aaaspiiie! (Grinning). A couple of das before, the result of a job typing quiz was: Aspie.
So, I thought I´d better take a look into the matter.

That's possible, but people usually associate "Asperger's" with bad social skills and they associate "autism" with a lot of the weird stuff I do that people would notice about me without talking to me (and these people havn't ever talked to me as far as I know). It is possible that they know more about it then most people, but also there likely to be at least half a dozen other aspies in my school that they could be talking about.

We were all joking around and snapping each other at work once years ago, and someone described me as being like "an idiot savant". cracked me up actually.

Thats the closest thing for me.

Not in a joking manner (I can't tell sarcasm or tone when people are talking, so I'm assuming it was not joking), people have asked.

I don't find it funny to use a disorder as an insult, neither do I have any time for the R word.

Yeah a few times. Lots of times on the internet, only a couple times in real life. Someone said to me seriously that I may have asperger syndrome and "a beautiful mind" and another guy said I'm "asparagus".

Not exactly, but I do get a lot of Rain Man comments from co-workers.

No. But you can't know what people really think. Those who did were close to me and they were damn serious.

Well it happened to me once. On an imageboard someone acused the OP of reposting a screenshot from a movie and i pointed out that while it was the same scene as the old post, it wasnt the same frame because the teeth of a character didnt match up. So its technically not a repost. Next commenter granted me the "autist of the week" prize.

In real life? No. But i rarely speak to someone and i dont even know people who "know" (Sarcasm alert) anything about autism except that they are spastic and do not speak. So no, that didnt happen...

Peace
TK

Yes, my friends has jokingly called me aspie several times, before I knew I actually was. Others has called me it as an insult when I haven't understood their jokes or otherwise done something "wrong" in a social setting.

It happened to me and I took it as a complement.

People don't usually joke about things they suspect are actually true.
So no, I've never been called autistic.

Not to me, exactly, but my friends (if you can really call them that, I only really hang around with them because I have nobody else; lately I've just been going into the music room and hanging out with a female friend/crush but she hasn't come to see me for a while so I've mostly been alone) are the kind who use autism as a joke in general and I just kinda embrace it and make fun of myself.

Not exactly, but a few months ago I was with a friend and a friend of hers, and her friend used "autistic" and "on the spectrum" as an insult toward her several times. It made me quite uncomfortable but I kept quiet. If it happened again I feel like I might say something because it makes me feel unwelcome around him, even though he probably wouldn't have said it if he knew I was autistic.
