The head of Google search in the film is severely autistic.

The indian girl geek is mildly autistic.

The user interface manager woman is moderately autistic.

Are you saying that the characters are autistic or that the actors are autistic?

Maybe it's just bad acting, bad directing, or bad writing.

Were the characters specifically written as being autistic?

Being geeky or interested in tech doesn't mean you are autistic, it is not a good idea to go around labelling things in that way, especially if you do this in real life.

Amateur diagnosis of fictional characters is pointless. In addition to the possibilities of bad acting, bad directing, or bad writing (or any combination), there is the possibility of the characters being specifically created and produced to merely depict autistic-like behavior - this seems to be a common occurrence in both comedies and dramas, where characters purposely have no depth, backstory, or long-term motivations.

It's only a movie, after all.

What do you think about the "Doc Martin" series? Personally, I think they get many of the issue spot on.

Spot on to what? He's a grouchy, pugnacious, professional lacking in social skills when dealing with the "lower" classes. Similar fictional characters include Ebenezer Scrooge, Charles Emerson Winchester, and Oscar the Grouch.

Without the character's negativity, the series would have been a human-oriented remake of "All Creatures Great & Small", with little or no drama, and certainly no romantic/sexual tension between Martin and Louisa.

Martin Clunes in real life is a friendly, jovial gentleman farmer who likes horses and people - nothing at all like the fictional character he portrays.

Well, since the characters are fictional, then their symptoms are fake, as well. Person who fakes autistic symptoms is a 'poseur'. Thus, the characters are not autistic, just faking it.
