Paracetamol, ibuprofen and codeine all work fine for me.

I'm on max dose of those three after a surgery and it only has a really low effect. Doesn't do anything for moderate or severe pain.

Tramadol has no effect at all.

Codeine is the only thing that work a little bit when I have a headache.

So I would say painkillers generally don't work for me.

Seem to work fine when I've needed them occasionally, I went through a phase of using co codamol too much for half a year in the past and I found they also worked fine at inadvisable levels too lol, obviously not with the paracetamol left in.

I used standard shelf pain killers for headaches(because they are annoying), and it does what's written on the box. Other physical pain can be ignored and will naturally disappear rather quickly, so I never bother taking pain killers unless it's a headache.
