Use thicker blankets or curtains or layer several curtains together to block out the amount of sunlight that can go through your windows. I also find that my place seems to feel cooler for whatever reason when I have an air-purifier running (with Ionizer or Ozone-Generator settings activated... although that could just be my imagination).
