Best Cities/Places to Live with PDD-NOS
I am a 22 year old individual diagnosed with PDD-NOS, a form of autism and I live in a western suburb of Chicago called Villa Park, Illinois and I know that Chicago has some good resources to improve/enhance quality of life for people like me such as Special Recreation Associations which provide recreation programming such as Special Olympics sports, fitness, art, dances, social clubs, skill development programs, camps, vacation/overnight trips and more as well as some great private special education schools and Best Buddies which is an international program providing friendships and jobs for people living with disabilities across the Chicagoland suburbs but I was just wondering on what other U.S. cities or countries have just as good if not better services, resources and/or organizations for people living with PDD-NOS that impact quality of life.
The factors include education, recreation, employment, housing, transportation, entertainment/things to do, healthcare, insurance, Social Security, cost of living, autism-related laws, support groups, legal services, hospitality, climate/weather, governments/funding as well as stereotypes that compose the quality of services provided for people like me.
I already with the above mentioned resources I listed in the 1st paragraph that I am happy with my life, it just is that I want to spread my research out to see what I can find?
Let me know from your own experiences or information if you could help me out here.
