I belong to a special recreation association where I live in the Chicagoland area. SRA's provide lots of recreation programming such as Special Olympics, arts, skill development, social programs, vacation/overnight trips, community outings to basically anywhere such as ballgames, museums, carnivals or amusement/water parks along with many other places as well. In addition there is swimming, self-advocacy groups, fitness classes, camps, fundraisers, and much more. It can provide support groups for participants and families as well. I have made many friends that have the potential to extend to a lifelong relationship with each of them.
This is such an important part of my life that I wanted to ask you guys on whether you have this type of thing where you live.
