I went to training for a new program that I am going to be starting for the next year at least which is called the ComEd Energy Force Ambassador Program. It is based in Chicagoland and it is the first energy efficiency education program designed for people with disabilities to be voices and promoters for energy conservation. It started with 8 ambassadors in 2011 and has grown to 22 in 2016. I will be going to different functions, groups and events to present and give tips to people about saving energy and tips. Plus, I am getting a paid stipend for doing this program. I think it should be a pretty good experience for me since I have already been a Special Olympics Illinois Global Messenger for the past 5 years in promoting the good word and vision about Special Olympics as well as my experiences in that program.
I am looking forward to this opportunity.
