Wish I still had mine, my mom made me give them away when I was 16. I've been thinking about getting into it again, it could entertain me for days.

So yes, it's completely normal for us ;)

As a kid I enjoyed playing with LEGO and I feel that I could enjoy this as an adult too. :D Although, as an adult I feel that I rather would like to spend time with things which has an higher difficulty, much higher. :)

I don't think that an adult should feel ashamed of playing with LEGO. It's fun. Go ahead, just do what suits you, I guess.

During my teen years, I built Lego houses, forts, tunnels, for my hamsters to play in.

I would also make hamster traps (safe ones) just to see if they would fall for it! I used an elastic band tied to the door and the other end tied to a small biscuit. They fell for it every time.

I still love Lego because I enjoy building things. My first set of Lego was given to me by my dad when I was fifteen. He bought several small sets for me later on.
I recently got a small set from a toy shop downtown. When I am bored with reading, I build trucks and construction vehicles. I showed what I built to an older friend and got told off: "it's not for girls!" I don't understand why. :(

Dude, I haven't played with Legos in a while, but they're insanely expensive. I still color in coloring books, I still watch cartoons; and I'm going on 24! Don't let anyone tell you doing what you enjoy is not normal. Normal is overrated anyway.

I think playing with lego at any age is very normal, it's a diverting activity like any other, e.g. rubix cube, baking, chess, other modelling etc... This thread did catch my eye though because my older brother, in his thirties, absolutely loves playing with lego, but for hours at a time in a very intense and silent manner alongside other behaviors I am beginning to think about. I actually wonder whether both of us have high functioning autism, though in his case he is far, far more successful in life than me. Still, my other two siblings seem so normal compared to our combined oddities, lol.

If it wasn't normal, they wouldn't be holding Lego conventions or making sets for adults (ever seen Lego sets that said 14-up?) and if you search youtube videos, you will find plenty of adults building models with Legos. You will notice big models they have built using Legos. It's great that toy companies have recognized that even adults enjoy them so they have made sets that are more complex.

I love Lego's. I buy some from time to time. I like building the little alien robots that come in the little packages. I'm planning to go on the Amazon.ca site and the Lego Store site to come up with different ideas on what to buy.

I didn't care for them as a kid, but as an adult, I think they are fun. I like putting Lego sets together. When my son is a little older, I want to buy some of the Star Wars sets, so we can build together. Fun!

People professionally play with Legos.

Adults playing with lego is pretty common these days. Autistic or otherwise....

I got back into lego aged about 26 as it helped with depression. I know a couple (neither of them autistic, so far as I know) who collect big Stars Wars and superhero display sets. It's worth looking around here on the web. Most of the lego web communities seem focused on hobbyists who build impressive things out of thousands of pieces, but I'm certainly not up to that level yet! I create more modestly-scaled things, and don't so much play as fiddle with them. Raising and lowering a castle drawbridge for half an hour straight. Even just sorting bricks into stacks by colour feels good. You get people making stop-motion films with the stuff and putting them on YouTube, which to my mind is playing in public.

Here's a couple of sites I check often: a lego builders community, http://www.moc-pages.com/ , and a Lego reveiwer who's also creating a huge city in his basement http://www.jangbricks.com/ . There's plenty more out there.

I stopped getting enjoyment out of playing with toys when I was around 10.

Although I used to watch children's cartoons right upto about 16 and still do.. So I can relate to your situation just not on the your capacity.
