So I was waiting at a crowded bus station, when a motorcycle went by on a nearby road, and it suddenly revved so loud, it made everybody flinch and glare at it annoyedly. You could tell the motorcyclist done that on purpose, to draw attention, simply because he was a show off. Personally I felt like running over and giving the motorcycle such a booting that the show off prick would fall right off his stupid toy (he's treating his motorcycle like a toy).

Does anyone else have angry thoughts when startled by an unnecessary loud noise made by a human desperate for attention?

Yes! I hate idiots who drive as though they're drag racing, revving their cars and blowing out my eardrums with the noise (I can't call it music) that emanates from their car stereo speakers.

I also hate when the noise level in the cinema is so high that it overwhelms the dialogue on the screen. I have been practically blown out of the theater by the ear-crushing noise.

I feel this way about the social use of horns. If I'm going to pee myself from the sudden noise, it should be because of an emergency (a driver preventing another driver from hitting them) and not because someone thought that blowing a horn was another way to say hi.

Every time this happens near me I always say out loud, "Sorry about the small penis, dude," especially since it's pretty much always a dude doing it.

Yes! There's a man next door who has a motorbike and he does the same thing every time he brings it out. It frightens me and that makes me angry.

Hate that. Loud earth shaking car stereo systems same way. All I hear is the bass.

I never liked people pushing on the gas pedal hard to make a loud sound and I also don't like loud bass music. I also hear the bass only and some words but can't make them out.

We had an idiot on our street who used to race his motorcycle down the street. Somebody could have been killed. The noise alone about made me wet my pants.

Make that another vote for hating loud noises - especially when it's created for no good reason. Revving engines and honking horns to say hi drive me nuts. I usually jump a little, and I'm always annoyed. If you're trying to get my attention, just wave or say hello. If I hear a horn honk, I assume hostile intentions or that I've done something wrong. I never perceive it as a friendly greeting.

When I'm out taking photos, I'll often pull off somewhere along a road. There's usually some redneck idiot who thinks it's funny to honk and/or yell out the window when I'm getting ready to take a shot. I really don't understand the simian mind that finds that so amusing.

Me too.

This is one of my major rages when I'm walking around the city. I make sure to absolutely never respond to horns, and always have done - even though they're almost never meant for me. If someone driving wants my attention, it needs to be worth the effort of pulling over and catching up to me. But that's extremely unlikely ever to be the case.
I even get secondary rage from seeing people respond to horns - not in irritation, that's fine, but as if they expect it to just happen to be someone they know.

i...am going to do this now.

ASPartOfMe said it too, i don't appreciate seismic tier stereo systems that rattle my windows and cause luquids to jump.

i imagine the driver hears his music fine, but if he's trying to show off his horrid taste to the whole county, it's working, because broadcasting BOOOOOBOBOOOBOOBOOBOOOOOWUB WUB WUBOOOOOOBOOOSH BOOOWUB won't win anyone over.

Normally, I can't even understand what they're saying with that noise, but I discern a few profanities in between the noise.

I hate people who honk their horns just because they wish someone would move a little faster. There are times when it would actually be more dangerous to move forward than to wait. What do they want? A multi-car hideous accident? Some people can't wait for anything!

my car has weak motor mounts and i'm insecure about their continued integrity, so i go really slowly (like, more than you're probably supposed to) over speed bumps and dips as to minimize any movement under the hood. i've had several honks thrown my way for that reason.

of course, you can't forget that there are situations where honking is completely reasonable--imagine being at a stop where the light has turned green and the lady in front of you continues staring at her phone....blissfully unaware....
