Thanks. To everybody. Like, really.

I stumbled upon the fact that I am on the spectrum (no official diagnosis yet, but I'm seriously considering getting one) and since I've found this forum, I've been able to get validation, support, and just the general frickin' acknowledgement that I'm not alone.

I have found my life to be extremely lonely on the whole. I have friends and family. I have wonderful children. I have been able to find love more than a few times in my life and, all things considered, I know that I've lived a charmed life. Still, with all of that around me, it's still dreadfully lonely knowing that being myself separates me from the herd. It's not necessarily a "bad" place, mind you, but it is lonely.

What I'm trying to say in its way, this forum has been one of the few experiences I've ever had where I tend to forget about that empty feeling and, well, thanks for that.

Welcome. I know what you mean by being loved but still lonely. It is so nice to meet others who just 'get it' and who don't judge. This really is a special place.

I have too much social fear to play online games, not for lack of trying. The last time I tried, I freaked out too much because I kept getting "Hey, wanna team up?" I envy your ability to find solace in it.

In fact, video games have always been a weird source of stress for me, yet the few that I do play, I really enjoy. I actually prefer watching someone else play them over actually playing them. Do you have that weird issue of not being able to do first person? I really can't, or play VR games. It's waaay too stressful for me.

I just like it that I can talk about things that I've never been able to talk about before. The last time I mentioned my love for my fidget cube to someone they just shook their head at me and said: "You are so weird." It's nice to just be able to get "Yeah, I have one too!" instead.

I like this place too. :) I've visited a bunch and just quietly stalked ...but decided to join today cuz I need some non-judgemental types to talk to. I don't have a diagnosis ex ADD but I've always been a little weirdly and overly creative and often awkward. So thanks for this place!

I've been thinking about getting a fidget cube but seeing as I barely leave my home I know it would just be a fad for me and I'd revert back to my other stims (a fidget spinner only kept my attention for about a month , bouncing my leg is much more enjoyable), if I left the house more I'd get one.
