5. Large or unique vocabulary
6. Lack of organization
7. Intense compassion/empathy
8. Intense anger or no anger at all

10. Difficulty understanding pop culture, styles, trends, etc.

It seems that the dislike of using telephones is fairly well known within (at least sections of) the AS population, though NT commentators seem almost completely unaware of it. It's not on your list, though it is a lesser known aspect. I don't think the things on your list are particularly unknown other than the capacity for intense empathy. Some ASD people have this, some don't.

Dislike of telephones? You mean talking on the phone? I hate talking on the phone and would prefer to text instead.

Yes, that's what I meant. Many AS people prefer to email or text.

^Yup, and people randomly turning up to house, especially hearing a door knock!
Not sure about the generalization of sports though, many top level athletes also on the spectrum, including myself.

If someone knocks at the door, I would rather not answer it.

yes.many myths. Still feeling slightly sick from a comment my flatmate said a few days ago. She apparently used to DX children on the spectrum and said i wasn't because i had empathy.. She has brought it up 3 times now and i have had to ask her to stop. Has actually caused a negative response biologically on me. Not feeling good at the moment...People are so willing to give their ideologies based on no facts willingly but yet dont have 60 seconds to want to hear the realities from those they are themselves condemning.. Sigh

Yes, it can make you feel physically sick. I get that. But many of us here understand.. Good on you for asking that flatmate to stop the psychologically abusive commentary.

The fact that she 'used to' says it all in my opinion , if she pissed me off that much I would point out that she could well of been damaging to children if she didn't Dx them due to having empathy. I wonder how many people are out there not knowing what's wrong with them because she told them it wasn't ASD?

A lot of those traits are ADHD and dyspraxia traits. And some may just be part of one's personality.

Yup am the same, i freeze and hope they go away!
A little better where i am now as i have flatmates and am on the top floor so dont hear the door and if i do i know its for someone else, but still get the anxiety spike.
When living on my own, lived in a small house, so could see there shadow under the door and i would freeze solid, sounds silly i know but would just hit me out of no where, same with phone, hence why my family only had my number until i was stupid enough to give it to bank manager!

1. Did researchers measure the :D angle of curvature  of a representative sample of NT and AS subjects?

2. Plenty of NTs do that. Symptoms of dyslexia

3. Plenty of NTs do that

4. Obsessive compulsive disorder

5. Hyperlexia

6. Executive processing disorder

7. From books that I have read, they claim AS tend to not show as much compassion/empathy as NT.

Although how do you measure compassion/ empathy?

9. Personally I feel no connection with animals. Afraid of dogs

10. And I do not "understand" it either. But what is there to "understand"?

You don't have to explain , it's your flatmate so naturally complicated
