Books - which is better and for whom?

Hello people !

I’ve been trying to find a book for helping me improve my social skills and other skills. After searching for a while i’ve found this Cambridge article that’s called:

‘Reading about self-help books on autistic-spectrum disorders (autism, Asperger syndrome)’

In the end of it there is (in the full PDF) a recommended adults book that’s called:

Understanding and Working with the Spectrum of Autism: An Insider's View By Wendy Lawson

So I was thinking with another person about this, and we thought about the possibility of using such forums for asking about things and learning.
My question for now is if anybody read it except for one person that mentioned it?

I could also see that people are mentioning Tony Attwood’s book:

‘The Complete Guide to Asperger's Syndrome’

I also want to know which book is suitable for who and a better read for (from the two that i’ve mentioned). Different people have different cognitions after all…

If you have other ideas for beginners books please tell also.

I have read some of Lawson's work, but not that one. I would say that her work is very easy to read and straightforward, if perhaps a little sing-song at times. I think she's very accessible for individuals who, for whatever reason, have difficulty reading, or who want a quick practical introduction.

Attwood is a bit more formal. He doesn't use colourful language but does use stories to illustrate his points. He's also quite straightforward and direct. I find he goes into a bit more detail. Suitable for people who are logical, find Lawson a bit patronising, or want a more detailed explanation.

I have read Tony's book twice. It is good for understanding Autism but it won't help you learn social skills.
