That is the question.

Is it just an NT thing to have this fascination with Celebrity Culture.

For example we have this wedding on tomorrow are we that interested on what the cake looks like? Are we that interested in the wedding rehearsals? I am absolutely fed up with the hype!

Same with these reality TV shows are we that interested in it? Or are they for the less intelligent?

Is there any subject apart from Celebrity Culture that people can discuss? Well yes plenty, anything but Celebrity Culture.

I just ignore it, as does my (very) NT friend.

I consider myself blessed to have friends (ASD and NT) who have no interest in such things. (I'm still trying to wean them off the soccer and rugby, though! )

I like the royals, but a lot of NT people who I know don't seem to want to be that interested. I think it's a jealousy thing though, as most people say "why should I care about those rich pampered people?" But I feel that being interested in them is just a way to be patriotic. I do get interested in what the royals are doing.
When Kate had her third baby I was getting rather impatient when they didn't decide on a name for a few days.

I rather hear about the royal wedding than to hear about the Korea/USA conflict.

If you live in the UK..I can understand interest. The US-N.Korea issues have the potential to effect large areas. Nuclear weapons.

Best wishes to our UK friends here for the royal wedding. It's special.

It's quite easy to avoid if you want.

I can't understand why people are interested in other peoples daily lives, especially those who are just famous for being famous.

As for the monarchy, they should be dethroned and their assets used to re-establish the public services that have been removed.

I get you, I don't care about any of that stuff either and I don't get why people do, but it's important to not put down people that do care about stuff or make them feel bad about liking it.

The Royals are a distraction from world and personal gossip.

Talking about the royals is a form of gossip which NT’s tend to do more.

I am fairly positive their are autistics out there whose special interest are Royal Weddings. To them, enjoy tommorrow.

My disinterest in celebrity culture is almost as profound as my disinterest in televised sports. However both of those pale in comparison to my utter brain shutdown when confronted with formulaic TV comedy shows. My ex-wife used to take it as a personal insult when she'd be laughing at some show with imponderable social comedy and I would stand there with a blank look. She never seemed to get Fawlty Towers, though, which I enjoyed.

Looks down this slight diversion route....

Yes, that type of comedy which is special because it isn't actually funny. "Friends" was an example of unfunny comedy. Soap opera with canned laughter....

Returns to the topic.

I hope the two people have taken opportunity to also have something in private vate, just for them and nearest away from the public gaze.

I had the pleasure of meeting some wealthy people in London when I booked myself on a handmade pasta course at Leith's School of Food and Wine. They are oh so charming when they want to be but when they're done with the hoi polloi you can be sure you won't get into their inner circle. All these celebrities are certainly fond of themselves.

Some are good folks. Marilyn Monroe wanted Arthur Miller for a husband. She wasn't any stereotypical dumb blonde.

I have never had a TV, and there are at least a dozen famous names that only make me wonder if they were associated with music, sport, or something else. I have only been to three weddings, and I doubt that any of them cost over $1,000. Glitz is just a way to spend money on people who can't provide useful products.

I have no interest whatsoever, nor does my NT mother.
My heavens-knows-what-he-is father doesn't seem interested but still reads about it, and my very NT maternal grandmother was very interested, my NT maternal grandfather less so I think, the paternal set I don't know.

My out spoken NT classmates were always generally fairly in the know so they must have paid attention at least, as do and did some/ quite a few acquaintances.

I did watch the wedding. The contrast between the dignity that Meghan Markle displayed and the Kardashian trash, who would sell their souls for more cosmetic surgery and bling was stark. I can't understand why anyone would admire or be interested in the Kardashians and their kind, unless they were also as self-obsessed as the awful Kardashians are.

The only celebrities that I'm interested in are the Royals.
