You said cross the river intact. You didn't specifiy that they would be intact after crossing the river.

It cannot be that the last person in line is seeing two white hats. If that were the case then he wouldn’t say I don’t know because that would only leave black hats. It must be that the two people in the front are either both wearing black hats or one of them is wearing a white and the other is wearing a black hat. It cannot be that the second person in line is seeing a white hat because if he did he would not say I don’t know since if the first person is wearing a white hat then he must assume that he is the one with the black hat. It must be that they are all wearing black hats.

takes the rabbit, goes back, takes the fox, drops off the fox and takes the rabbit, drops off the rabbit takes the cabbage, drops off the cabbage goes back for the rabbit
