Do you think Chris Chan is helping autistic people in a way?

I doubt it, he needs help. He needs to take a holiday.

He's mid to low functioning tho. And also he is not helping autistic people at all, hes making them look like perverts who are attracted to cartoon characters. I only know who he is because of Pewdiepie.

I only know about him because I watched this video yesterday.

I like this guy's documentaries. He does a lot of research and he doesn't make fun of people. He just tries to dig up the facts from the rumours.

No! So many people point to him to say 'Aspergers = as*hole troll'. People are not feeling sorry for him. They are making fun of him and reviling him.

Plus, I don't want pity. I want support. I want someone who believes I can do well if I'm given the right help, and then makes the effort to give me that help, not someone who thinks I'm a poor pitiful creature doomed to misery by my genetic make-up.

All great points.

That's also the way I see it.

Ditto.

I believe Chris Chan does a disservice when it comes to the image of autists. Compared to many people I have learned to know who have autism, Chris Chan still makes me cringe and stands out a lot. Also he/she (cuz not sure if Chris is actually trans or is just a crossdresser) isn't a troll, otherwise KF would have found out already due to their obsession with him/her.

I must also add that Kiwifarms obsession of Chris Chan knows no bounds. It is actually outright stalking, yet they seem to care enough for Chris Chan that they have in the past donated thousands of dollars and a PS3 to Chris Chan, just to keep him afloat and continue producing content for them to make fun of. If message boards/forums were anime lover stereotypes, Kiwifarms would be a mixture out of yandere (obsessive, stalkerish, will harm anyone who gets too close to their loved one) and tsundere (loves person, however shows frequent irritation towards their crush, occasionally abuses their crush). This has been going on for probably nearly a decade.

Not going to lie, I had to google him. First impressions (after much research) are that he seems like a douche and is totally playing the disability card for all it's worth. Not someone I would want representing me.

Also, I don't want a cure - I feel like that would so intrinsically change me that I would no longer be 'me' anymore. I feel like a lot of the things I struggle with would be lessened with more awareness/understanding from NT's - but I understand there are a lot of ASD/Aspie individuals who feel differently, and that's ok too.
