Today is my birthday and I feel down about it. Stuff like this just ties me now :tired:

Q.Anyone here like or dislike your birthdays?

I like them now. Years ago, I didn't. For years, I wasn't changing or growing. Now things are different.

Happy Birthday.

I don't mind my birthday. I get older every day, so that aspect of it doesn't bother me. I do like that there are some restaurants I can go to and get a free meal or free dessert, that's fun.

I hate receiving gifts. My response to such things is always muted and I feel that my reaction conveys a feeling that I don't like the gift and then I feel bad that I gave the giver that impression. I try and force it, but then it just feels unsurprisingly forced.

I feel sad that I find myself at nearly senior citizen status for some purposes, but never really began to grow up, except for educational attainment, until about five years ago.

It depends on the birthday. Since I became a teenager, I've met them with impatience. I want to be making progress towards independence and maturation, measuring it as the years past, but I'm slower than most in that regard. Many times in the past, my birthday found me in exactly the same place as I was last year. This past birthday was spent at an intake appointment for an autism assessment, though, so it was less frustrating. I feel like I'm getting somewhere this year, finally. I received surprising results alongside the autism diagnosis, and now I'm moving forward even faster. Hopefully, next year I'll be able to celebrate my birthday at college.

I like them now, especially as I have a job where every month, there's cake day to celebrate everyone's birthdays for the month in my department. Also, people wish you a happy birthday when they see you on your birthday, or the Friday before if your birthday is on the weekend.

No.

I'm not a Jehovah's Witness, but sometimes I feel like one. Birthdays and holidays mean nothing to me, just another day, don't like any special attention.

Happy bday!
I also had bday 3 days ago,

hmmm...
do I like it...
I..-- ah im too bad for saying it... but i dont mind the presents hahaha

nah, but on a more serious note,... do I like my birthdays,
hmm, I... I like the fact that there's some point in calendar, every year, where I get to contemplate the fact that 1 year is gone by... Yes, there's new year, which we all celebrate, but this is my small ''personal new year''.
I don't know what ppl count "2018" is old (after Christ or something),
but its good to have a personal count... :) so in this sense, its my little new year.

These repetitive events are very useful, in a similar way as elections are potentially very useful -- do you notice how much more effort some majors put just before elections? all the streets get built, etc. ... lol,
so its good to have these repetitive events.

Businesses have quaterly events, some control boards of organizations have also reviews e.g. 2x per year, etc....
(i dont know much about this topic though)

~~~
TLDR:
I believe that personal yearly events (i.e. bdays) are a good potential opportunity to review your personal life. I guess... They also serve as an opportunity to come together as family members and people close to you.
Do I like this day? ... hmm... I like certain good vibes that people create within themselves when they wish you happy birthday. That's certainly something that is (potentially) serving the world in a very positive manner.
I enjoy company of people who are happy or who care about you.
And if they wish you "happy birthday", and it means that they wish that you were happy, and they are happy in that moment, then I think there should be many more such moments.
but yea,... like I get it..........
Happy Birthday.
I'm mostly indifferent to them at this point. My next one is 30 and that is just weird to me.
I just had a birthday.
They don't thrill me.
I often get really depressed around this time of year.
Pretty much neutral. I live alone and I don't tell anyone it's my birthday, so basically the only thing special that happens on my birthday is that some of my relatives phone me.
Maybe it's a little bit depressing that I see other people celebrating birthdays and enjoying it which I wouldn't enjoy doing, but I'm just as happy to have it be a normal day.
I've been feeling strange on my birthday the past couple of years. I think about the impossible expectations that my mum still secretly has for me. I'm not going to give her the power.
Happy birthday!
I find holidays in general painfully awkward; especially my birthday; I don't like being the center of attention.
I'm deeply thankful that Thanksgiving is finally over.
I love birthdays (and holidays)! Family time, good food, presents, what's not to love? :D
I'm still a kid at heart, so I still get excited by presents, although not quite as much as when I was a kid.
