Does anyone else hear a humming noise when in bed at night?

I used to hear the refrigerator humming. It drove me crazy.

Which is why I run the air filter to drown out other noises.

I used to be very aware of an internal body hum but only if I dipped my head underwater in a bath. Think in my case it was because of back problems because when I had a chiropractor do something with my neck it seemed to disappear.

Now I'm plagued by tinnitus in one ear only and that seems to have come back after visiting a new osteopath.

If it sounds like a 60Hz hum, maybe it's a buried electrical transformer. There was a place I lived once where I'd hear a hum at night. I traced it to a spot about 2 blocks away but couldn't see any obvious indications of electrical equipment on the surface, so I don't know for sure.

Yeah I get that sometimes and can't fall asleep. I can usually stop it by unplugging a TV or a charger or something.

^ Ah yes, reminded me of my vibration plate exerciser. It can be switched off on the unit itself and at the socket yet still emits a hum unless the plug is removed completely from the wall.

Yes, something I only hear if it's really, really quiet.

Only in the left ear, that was inflamed long ago. It seems to react to every slight cold.

when it's quiet I can sometimes hear it too, and it's not anything about my ear, because I've had family members stand in the same place, and they then hear it too.

It was once suggested it was electricity. I don't know, but it's a real sound

and nothing like the hum

I am hearing it now. You are not hearing things.
