My taste buds keep changing. I used to like spaghetti, chicken, subway sandwich, bagels, ect, Now I can't stand to eat any of that stuff. I keep thinking my medication might have something to do with it. Is part of being an aspie not liking certain foods?

Refried Beans

I used to love refried beans when I was younger, but to me as of now anytime I try to make myself eat refried beans, my gag reflex kicks in and in turn, am compelled to find a quiet place to spit it out without feeling embarrassed.

There's been plenty of foods I used to have as "safe foods" that suddenly became disgusting to me. I don't know why it happens but it limits what I can eat so much.

I can't stand green beans. They are squeaky on my teeth.

I am not really sensitive to foods that is unusual to be sensitive to. I avoid food that's too spicy but a know other people who find spicy foods to hot, so it's not unusual to be sensitive to some spicy foods.

But I don't tend to drink hot drinks, especially tea or coffee. I prefer a cold drink. I don't know if it's due to sensory issues or if it's just me being different (as the vast majority of humans do drink tea and coffee).

Anything that has too much of a senory effect. Food that is rich, spicy, salty, tart, tangy, surgery, too much seasoning, to much texture are foods that do not appeal to me.

My main sensory issue is taste mostly about texture, and my stomach is not very sensitive.

And yet...
For some reason, I'm losing my taste towards fatty and oily foods... Won't be surprised if I start losing the appeal to taste most red meat.
And I'm starting to taste vegetables differently, very unlike before when I couldn't help but will myself to tolerate eating any of it.

It's a bit different from my practices of acquiring tastes.
Acquiring tastes is the means to be accustomed to psychologically and sensory wise, not some internal subtle change in tastebuds and digestion. :| Is this how body aging or certain craving works?

CubsBullsBears,

I can't stand green beans, either. They taste like plastic and they do squeak between your teeth.
