Newbies and long time pupils of this forum love this forum because they hear what they want to hear.
The more misery they hear the better they feel as they have now met people of their own liking.
The truth is: that is the reality of the 99% of the population of this beautiful Earth.
People have so much potential yet they never grow in maturity.
Sadly they may never find out how much potential they truly have because they just come onto this forum to complain about how bad off they are. Although they may say such things as 'what can I do to fix myself' in the back of their minds they have no intention of doing such a thing.
Aspie or Non Aspie, they are all alike.
People of this forum respond with comments such as ‘O you poor thing’

Everyone has their own path to follow. Some wander, lost, in circles, but don't know how to move forward because they can't see over the next hill, or see what's across the wide raging river. Even when others attempt to show them away.

At different points in my life I have been as confused and crushed and lost as some posters here. But I kept looking for new ways to go and I never gave up. Being stubborn may be my greatest gift.

I am at a good point in my life right now and I am grateful for that.

I don't know you at all but you seem to be a decent guy. I think that as in any society on WP there are optimists, pessimists, doers and complainers. Some try and recruit as much positivity in order to reinforce themselves and other people who are trapped in their own negative loop just drain them, and remind them of dark places where they could suddenly find themselves. Some of us experience both. Perhaps some have managed to drag themselves out of dire straits and are abstaining from negative environments. I am sure you know what is good for you at this particular moment. I do though think that the guys and ladies who are struggling to escape their failure to improve their plight, or seem even incapable of doing so, actually benefit greatly from the more optimistic members even though it may not seem that way. Negativity can be infectious but so can optimism. Wish you every success on your life journey :)

The members of this board are pretty varied so a person that is here any length of time is bound to read what they do not want to read fairly often. I would guess a half or more stuff I read here I would rather have not read.

I have got to admit while I do not like to read about others misery at times it is a reminder that whatever misery I have others have it worse and that I should appreciate the things I do have more than I do. That positive effect is not the reason I come here, I come here because I find many of the topics interesting. If I just wanted reminders others have it worse I could watch cable news all day long.

I did not read this post as Bob leaving.

In that case, I will miss you, Bob and hope to "see" you again.
