~60cm circumference. What should I vote?

That's a little bit larger than average for a women (if you are average height) but not that much bigger. I did find average head size for an adult women online which is 22 1/2 inches 63cm is 23 5/8 inches….The thing is determining whether your head is larger than average depends on your height and I can't find anything that shows different head sizes for different heights. :(

I read in one of my abnormal psych textbooks that about 90% of children with HFA had significantly large heads (in terms of circumference)) compared to others of their age/sex.

Nothing about relative to height there.

Anyway, I voted large, being slightly below average height and pretty skinny.

I have never found a hat to fit me, apart from stretchy woolly ones that make me look like a garden gnome. I had a moped once and the helmet was like a vice, it made my brain ache.

I'm 16 and my head is about 55.5 cm. I heard that your head doesn't grow a lot after age 10, so I think that would be about the full size.

Okay...I've corrected that.....and added that the measurement was relative to their height

so far 64% of you have big heads. according to the poll.... not as high as the estimate from my textbook but still a clear majority. I'm always the odd one out :!:

I have a smaller head than most my age, but I also have a developmental disorder as well. My sister has a very large head and AS with ID so she can take my vote.

Well...my hat size 7 1/8. According to that chart that is average. But my sister, who is 18 (I'm 19) the same hat is huge on her.
I have an aspie brother as well, and he has a NT identical twin. Their heads are pretty much the same size.

Head size is also relative to your sex so that makes sense

I am in the process of getting a diagnosis for ASD, so I cannot vote in your poll.

However, I have a freakishly large head. I have only seen some half a dozen other people which such a head type my entire life.

I have been taking crap from people about it for my entire life, too. Barely a day goes by and I don't get to hear about it.

I hope that you are aware that this thread started and ended (before you revived it) nine years ago. The original poster, and most of the other folks on the thread stopped being active years ago.

But having said that...its interesting that most of the respondants (including moi) have big heads. And that you do too.

Autistic brains fail to prune neurons. So our brains just keep collecting neurons like crazy old ladies collect cats. That might be why our heads get bigger.
