It's not something that I do naturally, I have to make an effort. It's worth it, because it helps keep friends.

Sometimes. I think it depends on how interesting the thing strikes me as being in the first place.

I hardly remember anything about people. It's also easier for me to remember the sound of their voice rather than how they look. :?

I can remember some things after a ton of years ;) I know most of this stuff about my best friend but she has also been constantly around for 17 years.

I also find it hard to remember what my husband looks like. I will lose track of him in a store and start looking for what I think he is wearing only to find him and realize I was looking for what he was wearing over a week ago.

People are movements and sounds to me and their looks and likes/dislikes are just facts that may or may not be recorded in my mental book.

If they talk about it enough I'll remember it. I have a guy friend who likes to metnion that he smells like raspberries because of his body spray, and he mentions it a lot, so I remember that. ((Of course there's the whole thing there with scent being tied to memory.)) I have another friend who's obsessed with disney princess/12-year-old girl stuff, but that's kind of hard not to remember. So if I can associate a general concept with a person, I can remember it. One of only two birthdays I remember out of all my friends is a guy whose birthday is Sept 11. I have an obvious reason for remembering that one. Another friend (acquiantence, really) was born on Feb 29, and I just think that's freaking cool so I remember that.

That's how I am. I can remember the most inane facts if they are interesting enough for me to remember. I still wouldn't win on Jeopardy, though. :)

I always notice if they are left handed or right handed. It is something that I specifically look for in people. Off the top of my head, I can only remember one leftie that I know, but I know I know more than one.

I don't really remember much behind that little bit. I don't even remember the birthdays of my parents and siblings.

No, I do not remember very much about my friends. I forget birthdays a lot, and I don't know what kind of a gift I should give them for any holiday.

I actually give gifts at odd times. When I find a gift perfect for that person they get it. Then on their birthday or whatever I forget. My husband actually thinks this is great because he does not get in trouble for forgeting our anniversary because I forget :D

I'm still not good enough friends with anyone to remember anything about them but their name.

Yes, I rarely forget a birthday, even friends who I haven't seen/known for 10 or more years. I often still think about them and wonder what they're doing now. And if I knew them fairly well, I remember most details.

PS- My carpool, a girl I was very fond of and was like a little sister to me, just turned 21. Sheesh! She doesn't seem so "little" anymore. I'm sure she acts older than I do! LOL.

Nah, I'm no good at remembering favourites and stuff like that. What I do remember really well is clothes, I can often remember outfits people wore or used to wear down to jewelerry, hair colour and styles as well. I seem to use that as a substitute for not remembering people's faces. For example when I started secondary school there were three girls in my class that all looked kinda alike, everyone used to confuse two of them but I always knew the difference because of the difference in hair colour. But the other girl had exactly the same face shape and hair colour as one of the other girls, took me nearly a year to learn how to tell the difference >_< The identical school uniform didn't help either.

I'm very bad with remembering birthdays, and usually, it's difficult for me to remember what someone is interested in until I have a mental picture of it. (If it's an anime, I remember it after I've seen it, if it's a video game, I remember after playing it, watching someone play it, or looking at the box.) Of course, if they talk about it a lot, I remember that way, too.

Yes, I usually remember people by clothing better than by face (main reason why I couldn't tell most of the girls apart at my old school; they all were wearing the latest fashions). Especially since one of my friends wears a bright, red hat most of the time. If she isn't wearing it, I find it almost impossible to keep track of her in a crowd, even though I can't think of anyone who looks remotely like her.
