Autistic people have super powers? Are super heroes autistic

You know you aren't' wrong I can't go five minutes without spontaneously levitating. Countless times where I accidently break things with my super human strength. Or I just go for a sprint and next thing I know I ran a mile in a second. It's frustrating. I haven't quite gotten the hang of my superhuman abilities.

An IQ of 200 is a super power. Mozart had super human musical ability.

Superpowers have been traditionally associated with fantasy figures. It is only in the last few years that the term has been applied to autistics, mainly by snowplow parents applying it to their children to make them feel good. IMHO it is a bad thing to expand the term to apply to actual people.

Mozart's IQ is estimated to be 165. As far as Mozart being an Aspie that is speculation.

Semantics ( a debate about the definitions of words ) lacks substance. Call huge musical talent or a huge IQ an extraordinary power or a superpower is unimportant. The important thing is that we realize that not only do we have disabilities he also have extraordinary abilities.

An argument about semantics is about what label ( signifier ) you prefer. its like arguing if "Blanco " or white" is a better description.

Actually the math says that our abilities are extraordinary. Of course there are some stupid aspies and some extremely smart aspies. But by percentages we dominate.

That does not mean that there are no genius neurotypicals. All I am saying is that the percentage of aspies that are world shakers are greater then the percentage of neurotypical world shakers. Note that there are more neurotypical world shakers. I am talking about percentages. One person claimed that police are prejudiced against whites because more whites get arrested. That is only because there are more whites then lets say Eskimos. That does not mean that Whites commit more crimes then Eskimos.

With great power comes great responsibility!

I am not saying that there are no neurotypicals that are interested in physics, chess or art. As a matter of fact there are more neurotypicals then aspies interested in those subjects. But if I meet 20 aspies and 20 neurotypicals more aspies will be interested in those subjects. I have found that most neurotypical conversations are about boring subjects like the weather, their car or sports.

The abnormal neural networks in some areas of the brains of people with Autism Spectrum Disorder may give some people with Autism Spectrum Disorder unusual if not unique talents in some areas.

Autism Spectrum Disorder, being an umbrella diagnostic term does not really detail which areas these are,
however, i hypothesize that a certain combination results in what others may believe are super human powers.

For example, one of the well known Autistic Savants, Stephen Wiltshire MBE is able to draw super detailed drawings of cities that he has seen, sometimes drawing the pictures months after seeing the site.

That to me is like a super power.

There are others who have natural skills from birth which no other human beings have.

Well, if nothing else, at least plenty of people on this forum possess the Dunning–Kruger super power.
