my husband is on about his 12th pair of the same shoes. I have found shoes I love, bought one or 2 versions, then they get discontinued. I would have bought that same version for the rest of my life if they had still been available. It is normal for me, normal for my husband... if you find something that works for you ( a tool, clothing, a way of life, etc etc) it would seem reasonable to keep doing that same thing. ( If it ain't broke, don't fix it) :)

I buy the same shoes (style and brand) for my whole family. We all like them so why not? They're nice enough for dress clothes and tough enough for hiking. I'm not really a shoe lady, especially since I have wide feet now. I have a small collection of shoes that no longer fit me. I don't mind keeping them. Maybe one day I'll be skinny again. The pandemic year has been great for saving money on shoes. I haven't bought any. :)

*I like shopping for clothes, but I know I don't NEED them. I'm proud to say that in 2020 I've bought only a jacket, a bathrobe and a pack of underwear for myself. The world produce too many low-quality clothes and even people in poor countries hardly need more clothes.

Uhmmm. I need underpants but I don't often find pairs that I get on with. I am down to three pairs. I could do with some more. The problem is that it means visiting a certain shop which has clothes in it and the smell of new clothes is a shutdown trigger. Uhmmm.

I don't think buying the same shoes over again is weird at all. For the past few years I've mainly been sticking to Nike Air Max sneakers. They are so comfortable, I have oddly small and narrow feet and these are perfect.

hate shopping for clothes, anyway its useless but necessairy, down to my last (unbroken) pair of trowsers, and the belt for the faulty ones is broken, i just don't know where to go
the last decade decent-ish shops closed for or transformed into cheap clothes (sheep clothes) depots
- im so peculiar, my mother used to find me some cotton clothes usually, i think i've fallen behind since then
& the conjuncture

I wash new clothes too. They finish them a chemical that aggravates my chest so my tubes tighten.
I am getting my clothes from a big retailer that I have used for more than forty years and the quality is a lot lower than it was. I have clothes that I have had decades and they haven't "bobbled" and look better than more recent clothes. Some have "bobbled" on a single wearing. Underwear has increased in sized but decreased in thickness. (I guess clothes that last decades are not so good for profits). I also look for as much cotton as possible. The versions for men and children have cotton but not those for women :( . They seem to think all women want cheap and skin tight, and I don't want either.

I am NT yet very much like you in my preference for cotton clothes...I like breathable, everything: underwear, shirts, pants, pjs, bedspreads, curtains, kitchen towels...At least 60% cotton, ideally 100%...Sadly these are getting more and more difficult to find, and costly...And, you are right on point in that new clothes are are not meant to last but almost disposable...Anyway, greetings to you... :D

Post Script: How could i forget 100 % cotton bedsheets...So important...

Long time ago , had a job that. Sometimes would put me in a position , having to deal with some really oderific
Stuff . Found that very strong cough drops , helped very much to mask the smell so much that , was still able to do my job . Honey and lemon , sometimes just a strong cherry scent or Eucalyptus. At for at least as long as the coughdrop would last . :nerdy:

If I find a shoe I like that's really comfortable I'll buy them by the shipload.
Not really.
But I'll buy a few pair because stylish and comfortable don't seem to go together often in shoe design, it's either one or the other.
I tend to stick to certain brands too because I like the fit.

For shoes, most brands don't fit my feet. My left foot is bigger than the right foot. If I had my life to do over again, I would encourage myself to buy two pairs of different sizes, rather than jam my left foot into a too small a shoe and slops around on my right foot.

Only Merrill shoes fits my feet (for hiking boots and water shoes) and Teva for water sandals. Teva used to have a great slip on clog, the only clog that ever worked for my feet and then they discontinued it. :(

I don't like shopping and I don't like buying clothes. Except for one period when I was doing a lot of swing dancing and I was shopping for circle skirts and other vintage dance clothing. That was fun.

There is a service for people with different sized feet to swap odd pairs.

I like to buy the same thing again as well. My problem is that by the time I want to buy the same thing again I can't find it anywhere. Indeed I have searched the depths of the internets for things I wear just to buy the last left over one somewhere, so far I'm having little luck.

I'm hunting for a pair of Asics mesh sneakers like the pair I wore holes in. They're light but supportive, and my feet stay cool and dry in them.

I have a favorite pair of jeans that has had several patches in it already. It's stonewashed denim, with 2% spandex, so they're stretchy and soft. So comfortable.

Is it normal to keep buying the same make and model of shoe?

I don't know about "Normal" but if that make and model proves comfortable and reliable it certainly seems a sensible decision.
