Is it normal that I had traits of Schizotypal Personality Disorder from my early childhood to adulthood?

I have PDD-NOS.

It's quite unusual, most of the time, schizophrenia onset is related to puberty, it is anyway possible to have an earlier onset. In many cases schizophrenia is linked to the mother age. How old were your mother at your birth ?

Unusual as well, an age with a lower incidence of schizophrenic descent.

I had psychosis and profound communication delays from from ages 0-8 and mixed fantasy with reality all the way to young adulthood.

It is a developmental disorder with psychotic features that reduces over time with Visual and environmental supports, visual schedules, Social stories and comic strip conversations, Speech therapy, Psychical and occupational therapy.

If if wasn't for all of these interventions, mental evaluation and therapies, I would have remained psychotic with no social skills and low IQ for the rest of my life.

I do not have schizophrenia, although like a lot of Aspies, I imagine before being diagnosed
I read up on schizophrenia in order to work out as to whether i also had it or not.

As it turns out, in my case i do not.

I did learn a bit as to what the pattern was that most people followed in order to develop schizophrenia.
According to the information that I read, apparently people are simply born with the predisposition to get the disorder
but usually also required some type of trauma in order for the disorder to develop.

For example. If you took two identical people, from childhood, who both have the exact same chances of getting the disorder. One person has a really low stress life, where every thing goes right.
The second person has an extremely difficult time, suffering a great deal of trauma.

The first would not develop the disorder but the second would, despite both being exactly the same in terms of predisposition.

I believe the types of Trauma include the following:

neglect or abuse as a child
the separation or death of one or both parents
drug and alcohol use

I also note that subjecting people to gas lighting also can not cause a person to develop schizophrenia.

Even if you got the entire world media and entertainment industry to gas light an individual, if the individual
was intelligent and knew he wasn't a schizophrenic, then no matter how much gas lighting you subjected him to
he still would not develop schizophrenia.

To think you can would be naive if not delusional. :-)

In which case, those who subject such a victim to such an amount of gas lighting instead should be diagnosed with schizophrenia. :-)

no need to worry about this example, as it is hypothetical. Its not as if Rupert Murdoc and his power abusing friends in politics, media and entertainment would ever do such a disgusting thing to any one, as surely that would be a blatant abuse of all human right laws known to man for an indefinite period. Not even Rupert Murdoc and associates would stoop to such a level of depravity.

I am sure they all have too much integrity....

Having psychosis form my early childhood was my symptom of Pervasive Developmental Disorder.

I was born with it. I also had what it seemed like Stresses Induce Psychosis, because my environment was very stressful when I was fifteen years old. And I also have Bipolar Disorder.
