It's funny how we are all so different YET so similar ..... I HAVE to have the curtains open to see the outside world , I wrap myself in a cotton sheet UNDER the normal douvay ( spelling) ......also always have 2 feather pillows under my head and a third NORMAL pillow between my legs as I eventually SLEEP on my side and the pillow helps with any backpain/ sciatica ! !

I believe everyone has an excentricity regarding sleep.

I myself can't sleep with any light. The room must be as dark as it gets. There can't be any noise whatsoever. My bed must be precisely made with undersheet, sheet, blanket and comforter (even when it's hot). I must wear a two-piece pajamas and socks. My pillow is king size, filled with goose feathers and involved by a pillow-case. I sleep with a anti-allergenic stuffed pig (and sometimes I'm really ashamed of that). I must drink two cups of water before going to bed. I always sleep on my back, otherwise, I can't breathe.

I don't sleep well when I have someone sleeping over, afterall, I sleepwalk, talk, screem, I sleep everything. Many times I woke up in the bathroom, in the shower, in the livingroom. But, that happens only when I'm too tired and somebody makes a noise on the street or try to wake me up somehow. I sleep with my eyes open sometimes and many people said that's really creepy.

Oh another thing.. I tend to have very.. VERY freaky dreams... ever since I was a kid... I don't think I have ever had a dream that could be considered normal; as in it could ever happen in real life. Anyone the same way?

I know what you mean, I also usually have very warped dreams, and my dreams often seem very colourful and cartoonish. Recently I had a dream where a friend and I got caught sabotaging a government meeting, and were sent to a pirate ship as punishment. In the end we used a taxi to escape... :P (I have to admit, as freaky as my dreams are, I love them at times! :D )

If you guys dont want dreams make a dream catcher i have one at home and i think its a mental thing but i have not had a dream in over 3 years since i made it
also my sleeping habits

1. Music be in my hammock
2. Music have music playing lightly
3. Must have a fan or heater on (I like the whir sound)
4. Must go to bed at exactly 12am
5. Must close dividing curtain (i share a room :( )
M. must have atleast 15pounds of pressure on me
7. MUST HAVE LIGHT OFF

Oh dude. I have to keep the collar of my shirt in my mouth otherwise the feeling of the shirt on my neck gets very bothersome. I also have a very particular position, on my side with one leg curled way up. I also used to have to sleep with a humidifier or white noise machine on in the room blocking out all the little creaks of the house. Nowadays the soft constant hum of the computer fan lulls me.

I lived just south of the arctic circle for five years. Sleeping through the day was never a problem, getting up when there are only 4 or 5 hours of twilight was a challenge.

I have a hard time falling asleep, like my brain just won't shut off. I also need basically no noise, and I especially can't have non constant noises, like the sound of a hard drive clicking, or especially people talking (on TV or whatever). With non-constant noises, my brain focuses in on them and won't shut off. I can kind of tune out more constant noises better.

I have always had a hard time falling asleep.

(1) I always need a fan going, even in winter
(2) I always need a blanket over me, even in summer
(3) I need total, absolute darkness

I also have the problem where my brain won't shut off. It seems that no sooner do I lie down than my brain starts running a mile a minute with all sorts of thoughts and ideas. I always keep a piece of paper and pencil by my bed so that I can jot down any ideas that come to mind. If I don't, then I start worrying that I might forget the idea, and I get all stressed, and I can't fall asleep at all.

Yes. I am a picky sleeper:

When I fall asleep I will wear a sleep mask in a dark room to shut out the light or have large pieces of cardboard in front of the shades(covering the windows) at night to make my immediate sleeping environment as close to pitch dark as I know how.

In addition, I wear soft ear plugs to shut out the noise and use three pillows because I am not used to sleeping with just one.

I am such a picky sleeper! I can't sleep if I can feel a seam or fold on my clothes/blankets, if there's any noise coming from another room, if someone next to me is snoring (!), or if I can see the blinking light on my computer.

Definitely in the club of needing total darkness to sleep; my blinds and curtians are as closed as they can be. If I'm napping and too much light still gets in, have to have something covering my eyes. Need a fan for background noise all seasons except winter, in which only total silence works. Got to be wrapped up in my blankets year round though, if its hot than my AC is cranked up enough to make me cold enough to bundle up lol. I can sleep on my back or side only. Fall asleep much faster if I'm on my side, but then I don't have dreams, while I can dream pretty vividly if I take the time to fall asleep on my back; an annoying nightly decision. lol

My mind makes images out of the rather formless shapes that penetrate my eyelids so I continuously see scenes when I close my eyes to sleep. Sometimes I am conscious of the shapes of cells in my eyes that become crawling insect forms or undersea arthropods in scrambling masses or giant thick legged spiders that I find disturbing. Sometimes I see geometric patterns of lighted dots in regular arrays or blinking lights. To fall asleep I let myself move into the imaginary scenes.

I never go to bed later than about midnight (or at least I try not to do it) because if I do it, there's a high possibility I will have serious problems with sleeping that night. I must have all parts of my body but my head covered. I like it when I'm warm; in winter two blankets lay on the quilt of my bed. I can't also stand it when my pillow is as flat as a pancake :x

When I have already gone to bed, I never sleep instantly but I like thinking over some things, spining dreams and making plans about at least half an hour.

It must be pitch black and must not be able to hear music.

IF I hear televisions, that is ok.

Must not be able to hear shouting outside my window. :(
