Do bots ever think you're one of them?

If you're a bit OCD (at least in the digital domain) like me, maybe you don't want to add your own spin on things in case your opinions change over time, but you don't want to have to edit past posts so you put very little "human touch" to your entire online legacy.
Normies seem to not care about the mess they leave behind but I only want to leave neatness.
The problem is, artificial intelligence don't trust that I'm not a bot and keep noticing "suspicious behaviour" when I'm actually keen to be more like their wise asses.

If it's the Facebook artificial "intelligence," that robot is broken and is very often laughably wrong when it tries to guess who are the robots, whose accounts are fake, which posts are inappropriate, etc. Even the layout software is forever making stupid mistakes.

I've no experience with other social media platforms, but I would think they were little better. They always put these things into service when they haven't got them working properly.

”Bots” do not think, they react.

Spam detection is not an exact science - false positives and false negatives always exist. I once read an article comparing the language of statistics with the language of AI and there were many parallels. So if any organization wants to catch more bad guys or more spam they have to turn up more knobs. This way they get more true positives and reduce the false negatives - in the process they also get more false positives. There is just no way around it. Spameres and Russian spys on “influence campaigns” get better all the time - one smart man ties a knot another smart man unties it - the counter measures have to get better too - but it is not an exact science

In other news: I was once identified as an alien by a co-worker. He started a conversation with me with a very gentle and friendly “and how are you, my Vulcan friend?”

This was shortly after graduating from college. I like to think I have improved at “running human in emulation mode” since then - if only slightly.

:)
