Have you ever had a question that you’ve always wanted to ask but never have? Or have asked it and received an answer that was.. we’ll call it unhelpful!?!???

I’ll go first- How do you watch TV?

I scan it and look at everything, I wondered if others do the same!? I have asked someone this question before and received a laugh and what!!?!? Response. Though it was a serious question as I was curios.. rarely do I ever watch tv facing it, my head is usually facing away from it a bit so I guess I watch it kind of sideways , always have…

Post a Q and A… or just a Q or response.

Thanks,

Dani. :)

One time I asked my mum what her favourite letter of the alphabet was, and she preached to me that it was a childish question.

My mother thinks I ask "stupid questions," too.

What I'm really thinking does not condense into mere words, unfortunately.

"Why are you so normal today?"

"How come you're not bored by yourself?"

"When did you last have a shower?"

I watch TV as most people do. I watch the video and audio and combine that into one moving picture.

Perhaps the more important question is HOW DO YOU READ?

In general I read like everyone else from the front to the back. But when I was in my first year of high school, I was taught to read differently. I was taught to read from the inside out. I would find the one or two key words in a paragraph and then begin to combine these words until I could understand the entire paragraph. Because my brain functions differently than many NTs and even many Aspies, this was really a WIN, WIN SITUATION for me.

So if you find it difficult to read, you might try this method of learning to read.

As far as your method of watching TV, I generally watch TV as most people. BUT when I communicate, I generally do not look people directly at their eyes. I will look a little to one side, but not directly eye to eye. This causes many NTs to assume that I am dishonest, unreliable, not to be trusted, a bad actor. They could not be farther away from the truth.

Since we don't have a download feature, can you paint it?

For NTs, "How are you... really?"

My difficulty is that I communicate by information exchange: persons take turns making statements, while NTs tend not to. I am constantly telling my NT husband, "I didn't ask [my friend] about that, but I did state my experience expecting she would then state hers, but she didn't." Was I supposed to ask instead? It's so laborious.

But then on the other hand, i can pepper people with endless questions, so... maybe it's the intensity On/Off thing again. I'm asking questions or I am so not asking questions.

Well since my husband is NT and we've been together for 25 years, there's probably no question I haven't asked. :D

I still observe him with great interest. :) I like watching other people do stuff. It never gets old. I know it can make them self conscious, but that's not my problem.
