There's an advert where a man's alarm clock goes off and it literally makes me feel sick. I think it might be a Rimmel London advert.

HUH?! :?

Anyways... I have in the past woken up out of a deep sleep suddenly by the alarm, very unpleasant. But just as much I have woken up suddenly to look at my clock and realize I have about a minute before it goes off. I have a very strange sleep scedual, so my body clock is never set well, but when it is it sure works fine. I have always been able to know what time it was, indoors or out without the aid of a clock, im very good with time.

I don't use an alarm or wake to music on the radio for that reason. I would wake up with a start. I find the four-legged, furry, alarm clocks (also known as CATS!) much more effective.

You consider it a problem?
I think it's great when it happens!

I can do it sometimes if i program my brain with the time I want to get up.
The subconscious knows what time it is and usually wakes me up about 3 minutes beforehand.

I just heard it was a problem from someone who told me that I might have something preoccupying my mind, like stress or something. I didn't know for sure, however. I suppose it is kind of cool; I wonder if it's another Asperger trait? lol If you think about it, it is kind of cool; I like sleeping in on the weekends when I don't have to worry about getting up too late, which is nice for the sleep-deprive student. I usually use an alarm clock because I'm scared about not making it to cross country practice, which starts at 6:30am some days. Then I stay up until midnight or 2am on some occasions for homework, which isn't too good. Which is, again, why I like sleeping in on the weekends! lol

I am usually getting up like a stupid time like 1 minute before the alarm clock goes off. It makes me sometimes wonder why i set an alarm but if i dont set an alarm i dont wake up at all.

I always wake up before my alarm, usually 5-10 minutes before it goes off. I have done this since I was a teenager and first starting using one for school. I rarely use one now though as my kids wake me up long before I need to get up for work. But, on the rare occasion I do use one for an important early meeting or to catch a plane, I wake up early.

My alarm clock broke but since then I've discovered I don't really need it as I wake up
automatically around 7 am on weekdays.
Of course, having now become complacent about
it the chances are I'll sleep in tomorrow.

I can take 2 half hours naps during lunches. For some oddball reason, I can't for the life of me sleep more than a half at a time. did it over several years at work, due to late nights and bad sleep. Mornings are pretty good for getting up around the right time- even if I leave the alarm off.

This seems to happen with me as well. I'll wake up about an hour before my set alarm goes off. I just take the time to snooze and let my body gradually wake up.

I used to get up before the alarm every so often, but not anymore. I still jump out of bed not realizing what time I need to get up and start getting ready in a rush before I realize that I woke up way before the time or that there is nothing going on or something. It used to be that I never really went to sleep if I stayed up too late unless I just passed out or something. Either way, right now torture by alarm sounds like what I do as well...
