Do you guys need a lot of sleep to rest that massive brain?
I know I do but wish to know if this is an Aspie trait or just that Iam a lazy sod.
Even before I worked shifts I would often sleep for 17 hours straight but be ok for a few days after that getting by on only 8 or 9.

I voted "Why is there only 24 hours in the day!"

I am tired alllllllllll the time. But I loved sleeping too much even back when I was young and healthy.

Nothing feels better to me than sleeping. Not even sex!

Great timing! It's just after 3.00am here and I can't sleep, so the answer to your question is, "More than I'm getting at the moment". Now going back to bed to try again.

I'm not reallys ure. I think I need about 8 hours, but I usually get less cause of insomnia. When I was in high school, I used to get about 6 hours a day on weekdays, and sleep for 10-12 hours on week-ends. I try to get 8 hours of sleep eveyr night now, but as I said this isn't really happening.

I work 3rd shift, and recently had an issue with insomnia but I fixed the problem by adjusting my sleep hrs and scedual and now sleep good again. I like/need 8 hrs!

I need a minimum of 8 hours, but I feel better with 9 or 10...or more. :)

Need, or get? I operate best with 7-8 hours a night, although I could sleep longer. I can manage on 5-6 indefinitely, but I feel like crap when I do it.

I need exactly 7 1/2 (though I rarely get it). If I sleep less, I feel awful. If I sleep more, I feel like a zombie and everything hurts.

I ask myself that question all the time. I am worried that someone will move us to the decimal time system, which would be even worse. Imagine a day with only 10 hours!!

Because the earth only takes 24 hours to rotate.

Now I can sleep for say, 17 hours before Iam really refreshed and ready for the day, then say another 14 hours and Iam ready to go to sleep again for say another 14 hours, 24 hours definately isnt enough to get my natural sleep pattern in.
Hey, maybe this really is the wrong planet!

Call me the human alarm clock.

'You're an alarm clock'

OK, enough already. No matter what the time I can go to bed and wake up eight hours later +/- five minutes or so. Any more than nine hours sleep (a.k.a. a lie-in) and I end up with a migraine attack.

lol. I've asked the same question to myself too! "Why are there only 24 hours in a day?" It's true man. I wish there were 25 or 26. I would much rather sleep 10 hours at a time and then stay up for 20 hours and then continue that cycle. As it happens, what I normally do is when I have the opportunity, I sleep in for 10-11 hours. Then I want to stay awake or if I try to sleep I won't be able to. Then I sleep for 5 or 6 hours due to some obligation like work or school. Some days I get lots of sleep; other days I get quite a bit less. I'm not sick yet, so I guess it's not working too horribly. When I get my new job though, I'll try and see if I can get a regular schedule to work.
